@anymanfitness I can see this both ways. I don’t think making it an annual tradition is in the kids best interests. But for circumstances like you mention, nothing is stopping me from taking my kid out.

Woah. Bret Weinstein just revealed that a 2012 law quietly dismantled the Bill of Rights. And almost no one noticed. “All the rights in the Bill of Rights became privileges the day that Barack Obama signed NDAA 2012.” “The NDAA of 2012 … said: until the end of hostilities in the Global War on Terror, we can pull you off any street in the world.” “We don’t have to admit that we have you.” “You don’t have the right to see a lawyer, to see the evidence against you.” “All that has to happen is the President needs to decide that you’re a terrorist or a supporter of them.” And a federal court ruling later decided that we don’t even know how many people have been legally disappeared under that law. “Lots of people are missing.” “We don’t know if any of those are missing because of the provisions of NDAA 2012.” Obama signed the NDAA 2012 on December 31. Why is that important? “By signing late in the day on New Year’s Eve in Hawaii, the rest of the country was already drunk, and it didn’t show up in The New York Times the next day.” Leslie Manookian: “This is why I say we live in a post-constitutional order.” “In that same NDAA, they repealed the Smith-Mundt Act … which prohibited the CIA from propagandizing Americans.” “They said: don’t worry, we’re not setting up a program, and we don’t have any funding for it.” “Well, in 2015 and 2016, they set up the program and funded it.” @BretWeinstein @LeslieManookian

One thing you learn in "Bernie for Burlington," one of the best political biographies I've read, is that he started winning when he united people against over-development with the slogan "Burlington is Not For Sale." Cut to summer 2026 and he's campaigning against data centers and saying "Michigan is not for sale" and "Minnesota is not for sale." If it works it works
