まだ途中だけど、ちょっとだけ遊び心ある感じの色選びしたので備忘録として。ハイライト色は純粋に明るい赤を選ばず、赤の補色の緑に近い成分を持った色をチョイス。素材自体がぼろい布っぽいので、明度はあげたいが彩度はくすませたほうがリアルっぽいという理由でこの色。1:1で混ぜたくらいなら野菜っぽい赤になるだけなので見た目ほど過激な結果にはならない

This Cornishman compares the clannish culture of the people of Sennen Cove, at the western edge of Britain, to that of the Indian caste system. Dick George, interviewed in 1982, grew up on the sandy ridge above the cove but was still regarded as an outsider by the covers who would discourage their daughters from marrying his kind. This explains why the People of the British Isles study discovered in 2015 that natives of Cornwall formed their own genetic cluster, distinct from that of Devon on the other side of the Tamar. Intermarriage with Cornishmen in the neighbouring village, let alone with Welshmen or Devonians, was discouraged. What preserved Cornish as a distinct genetic group in England, while much of the rest homogenised into a single genetic cluster, is lack of domestic migration during the Industrial Revolution - no one was moving to Cornwall in the early modern period. But since the 1980’s that has been changing fast, especially since Covid. The 2021 census recorded only around 117,350 people identifying as Cornish in the UK. This makes them less than 20% of the population of Cornwall. Domestic migration or “incomers” and intermarriage with them has ended Cornish tribalism.

@AkkadSecretary If it were just this size, I would say no. But this size, with the history of it and the aesthetic of the construction, could be cosy to the extreme. Still a bit of a fixer-upper, but that could be rewarding too.

What they “forgot” to mention, of course, is the long line of paid, protected, and prolific nonces they shielded for decades — monsters like Jimmy Savile, Stuart Hall, Chris Denning, Rolf Harris, Alex Bartlett, and Huw Edwards.
