Americans are overwhelmingly against AI, specifically the buildout of data centers…
Everyone you talk to outside of tech/finance.
This will be a huge issue in 2028 and unless you want Bernie and AOC running America's national AI policy, Big Tech needs to clean up their pitch to the Middle and especially the Right.
Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg telling Americans that they need to use their land, resources and electricity so that we can "beat China" is laughable. If that's the goal then Gates wouldn't have pushed insane climate policies on our own nation for 15 years, and Zuckerberg wouldn't have funded groups facilitating mass illegal immigration.
If Big Tech really cared about America winning and "beating China", Amazon wouldn't be replacing American tech workers with H-1B's to save a few bucks. They certainly wouldn't hire Chinese nationals and put them directly into America's most important companies.
Aside from Elon, Big Tech has done almost nothing for the Right in America. Except censor them. The path ahead is: Nationalism vs Communism. One side is already trying to seize your assets and would likely cheer if you were gunned down in the street tomorrow. Tech guys should consider backing their newfound "patriotism" claims with policies that actually support it.

🚨BREAKING🚨
GOF, @GunOwners, along with @right2bear & @VA_Gun_Rights, filed our legal challenge to @GovernorVA Spanberger's prohibition on commonly-owned firearms & mags, plus restrictions on carrying them.
SCOTUS already said you can't ban the most popular firearms.

I know quite a few people that supported data centers... until they had one put in their neighborhood.
The low frequency noise, higher utility bills, and restricted water use drove many of them to want to leave, but .... they couldn't.
Why couldn't they leave? Because no one wanted to buy a house in a noisy, high utility cost area with water restrictions.
English

Against.
Those that I know that said they were for them, quickly changed their minds when they built one of them in their neighborhood, especially when light pollution, low frequency noise, water shortages, and higher electric bills were realized.
I asked "Why is your grass so brown?" Response - "Well, they said we can't water our laws anymore because we have a water shortage. Never was a problem before the data center came in."
Not to mention the reduction in property value that accompanies it. It's like trying to sell a house that sits right beside the Ohara airport. Once potential buyers show up and hear all that noise - they look elsewhere.

A new Gallup poll shows that most Americans do not want AI data centers built near their homes or communities. In total, 71% oppose the idea, with nearly half (48%) strongly against it.
This is more opposition than for nuclear power plants, which only 53% oppose building in their local area.
The strong feelings against data centers are because They use huge amounts of electricity and need large volumes of water for cooling. The cooling fans also make loud noise day and night.
Many locals worry that electric bills will rise and daily life will be disrupted.

🚨 BREAKING: The US Supreme Court has ruled 9-0 that freight brokers can be held LIABLE if they negligently hire unsafe trucking companies — including those with ILLEGAL ALIEN and FOREIGN drivers who violate CDL rules and cause accidents
LFG! Start cracking down on the companies 🔥
The opinion, delivered by Barrett, confirms that federal law does not shield these brokers from state negligence lawsuits.
This will likely help force brokers into being MUCH more careful about which carriers they use, because they want to avoid lawsuits
PURGE THE CDL SYSTEM and hold all trucking companies liable!
Non-English foreigners all over the roads needs to end.

If this graphic does not help convince you we need to pause H-1B, I am not sure what will.
6.9M petitions over 10 years is NOT a program that ONLY fills EXTRAORDINARY gaps.
DO A PAUSE AND FULL AUDIT OF H-1B AND EVERY VISA PROGRAM. PROVIDE FULL TRANSPARENCY INTO EACH!
Mike Lee@SenMikeLee
H-1B should only be used to fill extraordinary gaps in our workforce. It was not meant for the wholesale displacement of Americans in their own industries. Time for a long, long H-1B pause.

AI data center developers target rural territory to bypass city construction bans and regulations — rural locations allow sites to bypass city council approvals, rezoning votes, land-use reviews, and reduce public scrutiny tomshardware.com/tech-industry/…

Residents living near AI data centers are experiencing health problems caused by infrasound from cooling systems and gas turbines.
These inaudible low-frequency vibrations can cause symptoms including dizziness, nausea, vertigo, headaches, insomnia, and anxiety.
Because infrasound falls below the range of human hearing, it often evades detection by standard noise measurement equipment.
As a result, some local governments have implemented moratoriums on new data center projects while the environmental impacts are studied further.
