I never learned how to cut wood, go fishing, play pool, or dress right. They knew I didn't fit, so they never tried to teach me.

seeing DID as a failure to integrate means that I see the broken plate metaphor differently and while it might have some use to some people I feel like it’s more like if the components that go into making a plate never were mixed and pressed together in the first place

@centipeople Might just be that becoming aware of multiplicity is inherently destabilising, even if it's healthy to improve that communication (for stress or trauma or simple mindfulness).
