Honest Question. The average person doesn't know Troops get Steak and Lobster before deploying into a Combat Zone? I ate Steak and Lobster back in 2001 before Deploying into Afghanistan. Then ate MRE's and didn't shower for over a month.

@kurt13warner hi Kurt happy Monday Quarterback talk…. You know I felt like on Patriots first drive they were testing to see if Seahawks defense was legit ,as silly as that sounds…. I mean May drops back to pass on not sure second down just stood in pocket like too see if they coming? Oh yeah they here %%SACK”… Man why not just post up double slants on left /rt shoot for positive yards or even rt off the bat play action fake handoff roll rt hit the out”, hitch”,corner, or throw it out of bounds… both nothing the whole game , no gambling on anything until the end when Patriots were down on their luck … did the million dollar OC’s call in sick? Oh yeah I think it was third down when he first got sack, they actually had two great runs up middle for positive yards to start the drive ! I don’t understand… how would u do it differently..?thanks

There are so many things I would love about coaching… unfortunately none out weigh the blessing of “freedom of time”, that I now possess, to be there for my fam in ways I haven’t always & chase some of my other passions in the game… BUT man, I wish I could find a role to share the knowledge I have with the next generation of players/coaches!

Takeaways from watching tape from last night’s game: 1) ATL D balled out & won the night (especially 3rd down) 2) Not having a pressure plane keeps costing teams 3) An epidemic right now in NFL is QB not tying feet to top of routes, causing them to miss OPPs or play to fast 4) Best game I’ve seen from Pitts - he played at a faster pace than usual (hopefully new normal) 5) Bijan Robinson is Special! 6) Not sure Kirk Cousins is still a starter in NFL? He made some really nice throws & also missed a number of throws he’s made in past? 7) TB hasn’t played well in a month (or more) can they pull it together quickly & keep their hold on division titles?

It TRIES to combat disguising coverages… but just bc you build a play your QB can read across the field, does not mean it’s more effective & I argue the opposite! The goal is to build plays to attack areas & QBs need to read those areas NOT know exactly what coverages a team is in! You give keys & read bodies… the D still has to cover all the same zones with the same # of ppl, we often over complicate things!
Kevin Seifert@SeifertESPN

It really was. I wonder how many people (or beat reporters 😏) realize that a lot of NFL QBs are making decisions not based on reading coverages, but instead "progressing" through a predetermined order of eligible receivers to find an open target. Combats disguised coverages.

Awesome I had to verify it from someone who would know better. Thanks man, also can you please give example how after a play was called to you ( sent in) and in the huddle how you might suggest to anyone something?or I’d imagine as their leaving the huddle? If not no worries thanks again. Old school or not I think it’s a major key to winning.

@SolorioMarc I hate it… but maybe I’m just old school! But I want my QB to have to play the game not a grown man on the sideline (if they are calling it based on what they are seeing from D)… if it’s just process of sending in play, like calling in huddle it’s all the same

@kurt13warner Hi Kurt , not sure if you saw my earlier question about in High School ,I’m wondering how you feel about offenses when the plays are called from sideline with no huddle? As a kid growing up playing QB I always thrived on being able to communicate to my receivers a thought, angle, idea on the possibilities each play ( not every play) on what I’m seeing from defense and in the split moment having a suggestion that might help the play along . I feel you lose that when everyone is already lined up waiting for the play ( hand signals) . Ex. It might be as a QB you jammed your thumb a little on the play before and on next play ,if your coach calls a deep fade you might just whisper to your receiver to look a little sooner for the ball?

@kurt13warner hi Kurt was wondering your thoughts of teams that use no huddle throughout the game ( high school) they just use sideline signals I feel it doesn’t really give the QB be the chance to communicate with his offense aside from audibles at line of scrimmage? For example “like on a certain route you may want to suggest something to your wideout or halfback / you might say “ hey be ready I’m gonna throw it quick right on the cut or look sooner on a deep ball “ , I figure there’s got to be some things you may want to say with them in a huddle?

There’s so much opportunity for the QB to adapt to what a defense is giving/or showing per play rather than having 1-2-3 priority reads ,and the best Quarterbacks can adjust in an instant and make big plays more often then the average Quarterbacks ( especially rookies), based on their experience and talent! Thats why a veteran when it comes to driving the ball down field seems to have an easier time! He knows the typical alignments( cover 2s ,3s) or whatever , that he sees and can act on a dime to what he can capitalize on! Also some of the best football plays seem to be on broken plays ( and why?) because he’s reading the whole field with what he can and then making his decision to attacking the defense. Thats not to say suggesting a read isn’t helpful, of course!

Kurt Warner, from his experience in timing-based systems like the Greatest Show on Turf, critiques pure progression offenses for forcing QBs into rigid 1-2-3 reads without adapting to defenses. He argues this slows mental processing, reduces consistency, and limits success, as seen in his tweets and QB Confidential videos. Warner favors full-field concepts with pre-snap adjustments, enabling quicker decisions and better exploitation of coverages for long-term QB growth.

I watch & I watch & I watch… and I still don’t understand how “pure progression” offenses are ultimately better for a QB! Yes, there are always a few plays that work out great, but way more often it just makes the game harder for the QB, IMO! I am so open for someone to explain how in the long run it improves a QB or his ability to succeed… I’ll wait here!
