This is a real emperor-has-no-clothes moment. Ben invokes "free markets, like equal rights before law, like checks and balances, like traditional virtue," as if DW hasn't rolled over for a MUCH bigger threat to all those things than a pack of fringe podcasters.

@CalFreiburger Do you genuinely not see that there is an operation in which the Left and the Woke Right are trying to take down Daily Wire? It seems pretty clear to me and it’s deeply malevolent on several levels.

All credit to Ben's stand against Tucker, Candace, Fuentes, etc. as far as it goes, but let's face it: they're an easy target. Their influence on the Right is not zero (see the Heritage Foundation), they're wildly overstated. Nobody genuinely valuable cares if you go after them.

Whether you agree with him or not though, Ben is taking a stand in a very aggressive way for a certain side of things within the conservative movement and the larger Trump coalition. When Joe Biden was in power, it was easier to focus fire on a common enemy without fracturing a broader conservative audience. But since the relevant fight has largely turned within, I think Ben has been willing to spend his influence pushing what he believes in at the expense of friendships and followers. I don’t endorse everything he has said and done. But I respect that choice as a matter of principle. His media platform may be eroding to whatever degree, but what he has gained is the success of his positions in the world and an influence within the administration and the leadership of the Republican Party that has palpably shifted the direction of the nation. He may not be as wealthy for it at the end of the day. But I expect he is ultimately happy with that exchange.

Utah has 3 Supreme Court seats set to open. You know what never happens, Democrat nominated judges NEVER turn out to be flaming conservatives. This absolutely NEVER happens. Democrats NEVER miss. What Cowher is saying is probably 100% true. But that's not the point. The point isn't "well, everyone cheats." Belichick got CAUGHT cheating....multiple times. Whether you agree or not, being caught cheating does matter to voters.
