the entire tone -- it starts out by normalizing him as just another student -- hes a fucking scammer targeting Americans -- it then spends the entire piece explaining why its okay instead of you now wrong to lie and scame ppl AND it hides his identity cause he might get in trouble -- he engaged in an overt fraud for the purposes of acquiring money, a very loose interpretation could frame this as wire fraud(less of a stretch then what they did to Swartz and the CFA).

Also, the Indian guy doing the catfishing is doing it for money and would likely catfish Dems if he could figure out how to. I doubt the guy cares about US politics or “winning back” anyone.

Trump came out and addressed the outrage over that viral image. The media instantly ran with the usual hysteria and tried to turn it into something it never was. He made it clear 💯 it was not a depiction of Jesus, it was him as a doctor, tied to the Red Cross. But once the fake news crowd smells a narrative, context never seems to matter. Amazing how fast people invent controversy when the truth was right there the whole time. Why do so many people rush to outrage before they bother to get the facts?
