NYT confirms — with new details: Last year, Navy SEALs used two boats to escort Kash Patel and nine others on what a Pentagon email called a 'VIP Snorkel' next to one of the military's most sacred sites, the underwater tomb of the U.S.S. Arizona. One Navy vet called the swim "horrifying." nytimes.com/2026/05/15/us/…

For 20 years, a $6 knob that takes one hour to 3D print has been grounding Black Hawk helicopters four times a month, and the contractor responsible won't sell us the part or the IP rights to fix it ourselves. So instead, American taxpayers have been paying $40,000 every single time to replace the entire system, multiplied by four times a month, for two decades. That is NOT a procurement problem, that is a shakedown, and it is exactly why right to repair has to be in this year's NDAA.

This shows just how the US has declined. Xi told Trump to back away from Taiwan and what is Trump’s first comment after the summit? This, he might not support an already agreed arms sale to Taiwan. He is dancing to Xi’s tune.

This is the most blatant, in-your-face corruption I have ever seen in my lifetime. Dropping a $10B IRS lawsuit for a $1.7B taxpayer-funded "weaponization" fund — overseen by a Trump-controlled commission — is just the latest scheme. Look at the scale of what else is happening: - The Trump family crypto venture (World Liberty Financial) accepted a $500M investment from a UAE official days before the inauguration. Now, that same official is securing deals for 500,000 of Nvidia’s top AI chips — exports that were previously banned by bipartisan agreement due to concerns about technology leaks to China. - Since Jan 2025, the Trump family has pivoted into defense tech. Companies like Powerus and Foundation Future Industries — directly linked to the President's sons — have landed over $735M in government contracts. Vulcan Elements (where Don Jr. has a massive equity stake via 1789 Capital) secured a $620M Pentagon loan. Most of these companies are brand new or have zero history in the sector. The GOP-controlled Congress needs to do something, NOW. If they continue to refuse to act on such obvious corruption, it should be assumed they are all benefiting from this. WTF else are we supposed to think at this point?! @SenateGOP @HouseGOP

Donald Trump is about to turn Jan 6 criminals into MILLIONAIRES. With your tax dollars. The people who smeared feces on the Capitol walls… …hunted Mike Pence through the halls of Congress… …assaulted cops. He’s creating a $1.7 billion apology fund for them. Disgusting.

🚨SHOCKING🚨: Amazon proposes an extra 414 backup diesel generators at its New Carlisle, IN data center complex. This brings the total for Project Rainier to 909 backup diesel generators totaling >2,400 MW. It will store more than 6.1 million gallons of diesel fuel onsite.🤯

Amazon is asking permission to destroy 5 acres of wetlands and nearly 1 mile of streams as part of its resubmitted proposal to add 14 data center buildings at a third site at its sprawling New Carlisle, IN campus. Public comment is due June 12.

Its easy to just say BTM will disspear once the grid gets its act together, but its actually very hard to robustly assert it. Here are a few of the things you'd have to explain away: - Data Centers have always needed lots of BTM generators and batteries for backup power. Moreso than any other industry. The grid couldn't give them "full service". - No industry has ever had such a time preference. 15-year deals are clearing above $150/MWh now just to get a year of speed. - Massive GW scale loads have nearly always had capitve power plants or massive energy storage. Look at aluminum smelters across the world. Nearly all of them have this (while also being connected to the grid). - NERC just told us AI load volatility threatening the grid. It wasn't engineered for multi-100 MW swings in less than a second. BTM batteries are going to grow to manage this, even for DCs that are entirely servied by grid energy. I don't think long-term islanded DCs are a big part of the future if the grid gets its act together, but I do think BTM is very likely here to stay in some meaningful form.
Jane Flegal@JaneAFlegal

BTM buildout for data centers is a symptom of a broken planning, permitting, and financing system. We need structural solutions, not just near-term affordability band-aids.

In Texas yesterday, solar provided >50% of the power to the grid for much of the day. If solar is such a bad energy source, why is Texas investing so much in it? They have the most competitive electricity marketplace in the country, and solar is winning more and more.

The final death toll after Russia flattened an apartment building in Kyiv with a Kh-101 cruise missile is 24 people, including 3 children, President Zelensky announces.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

The search and rescue operation at the site of Russia’s strike on a residential building in Kyiv has been completed. Our first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine worked continuously for more than a day. The Russians practically demolished an entire section of the building with their missile. Twenty-four people were killed by this strike, including three children. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Everyone who was wounded or lost their home must receive the necessary assistance. In total, 48 people were wounded in Kyiv as a result of yesterday’s attack, including two children. I thank the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and everyone who dealt with the aftermath of this Russian attack and helped people. A Russia like this can never be normalized – a Russia that deliberately destroys lives and hopes to remain unpunished. Pressure is needed. It is Ukraine that is defending Europe and the world so that such strikes, in which children are killed, do not spread further. That is why support for the defenders of life must continue. Ballistic missile defense is always needed. I thank the partners who continue investing in the PURL initiative and develop our anti-ballistic coalition. All of this must be implemented. I am grateful to everyone who did not remain silent and condemned this savage strike.

Real story: Judge was about to throw out the case bc Trump controls both parties. Before it’s dismissed, Trump tells both parties to reach a “settlement.” Settlement shields Trump from any future audit and creates a secret slush fund that can dole out money to anyone with no transparency. Mind-boggling corruption. @SpeakerJohnson - you may not know it, but your job is to conduct oversight of the admin. You can’t run away from this one.
