@davek682 @DennisKalma Yes, there's much more than term limits.. There are no unions & no chief medical officer.. A very limited gov to keep peace & protect the borders. The PPL /private sector doing the work, no socialism & no BigCorp. The tiny state has no power to give out special power 2 corps etc

@Speaking4m @DennisKalma I like the term limits plus I would add abolish public sector unions and elect everybody as much as possible. Judges, police chiefs, prosecutors, chief medical officer, etc. If you have authority to restrict freedom under legislation, you should run for the office.

Why does the Canadian political system feel weak? Canada sits in an odd middle ground. It has a parliamentary system with ridiculously strong party discipline, to the point where any dissent within a party gets squashed ruthlessly and publicly. This allows PM's - especially tyrannical PM's who have a particular ideology - to rapidly advance legislation. Courts can strike laws and "read in" intent where none existed at the time the law was created, adding still more places to insert ideology without oversight. Provinces have the clumsy "Notwithstanding Clause" which the federal government can edge around via funding and other mechanisms - which are thankfully not used much - yet. Canada has no elected senate with real teeth, even to delay legislation. It is effectively useless or more evilly, aligned to the power which appointed them, primarily the Liberals under Trudeau. It gives the illusion of second thought when it is nothing but an overpriced echo chamber. No separation of executive and legislature (PM controls majority) - there are kings who wish they had this kind of power. Less structural friction than U.S. or Germany or most other nations. Canada has relatively weak legislative checks. The courts look dominant mainly because the political side doesn’t resist much. Canada feels like laws are pushed through on autopilot because Parliament behaves slavishly to the party leaders, it is really a whipped majority machine whose MP's may as well be replaced by dummies.

@Speaking4m @DennisKalma Blame Hitler and Tojo. The massive effort required to steer industrial effort to win a world war flipped the citizen/state relationship. Power limiting clauses tend to be circumvented under the auspices of security and the absence of a return spring mechanism means it stays.

@griercoppins @NadineWellwood @yor_johnson No.. the founding fathers came up w/ equal individual rights so 2 prevent the majority / the PPL/ the mob [the 51%] from controlling the other 49%. That's why the word "democracy" isn't in the US constitution. A democracy is mob rule. Rights are for other PPL 2 know boundaries.

Your rights aren't about you—they're about other people. Your right to life means others can't kill you. Your property rights mean others can't interfere with your car. Rights limit what others can do, not what you're entitled to. #Rights #Liberty #Philosophy

@echipiuk [Cda/USA] constitution fail is far worse than that. The idea 2 shift power around within the STATE is still seen as fix but its a known fact that POWER always corrupts so POWER held by STATE as the default is the actual root problem. Pardy's got the fix👇 youtube.com/watch?v=dCUXug…

This is a positive and necessary step. Canada needs to take a serious look at how we appoint judges to the superior trial courts, courts of appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. These are foundational institutions, and the process should reflect the importance of public confidence, transparency, and regional input. Strong institutions depend on trust. Reforming the appointments process is part of how we build and maintain that trust.
Danielle Smith@ABDanielleSmith

Canada needs to reform how we appoint judges to the superior trial courts and courts of appeal of the provinces, as well as to the Supreme Court of Canada. I am joining with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, and Quebec Premier François Legault, in writing to Prime Minister Mark Carney requesting a new, collaborative approach, wherein our governments can meaningfully engage in filling judicial positions in our respective jurisdictions. @DennisKalma @davek682 Q. If u believe Cda/Fed system treats Cdns as serfs [it does] how does ur constitution OR any, not do the same thing b/c ur constitution like Cda & USA's is top down power, where the power default is held by the STATE/Branches & power ALWAYs corrupts no matter which branch has it

I think it's even worse than that. It is a colonial mindset, underpinned by a marxist desire for control while appearing democratic, larded over with an ideological bent which truly thinks citizens are not citizens at all..they are subjects and useful idiots. It is why Albertans with their independent, self-sufficient mindset do not fit. It is truly an awful system which has been running on its pre-1980's history and capabilities and now is squandering what ought to be the most prosperous country into nothingness. Within the realm of democracies, I cannot think of a worse system. Literally, I'd take any of them rather than what we have today in this unfortunate country called "Canada"

@DennisKalma Pardy pinpointed the error in Cda & USA constitution. The "checks & balance" model has totally failed b/c power always corrupts. His reverse of power default is genius. Its the tweak the FFs would've done had they been able 2 see into the future 42:39👇 youtube.com/watch?v=dCUXug…

@CoryBMorgan Why not switch the "Checks & Balance" [constitution] method 2 @PardyBruce new "No Force" method where the POWER does NOT default 2 the STATE. Power always corrupts so its insane 2 keep using same method that's proven 2 fail. Pardy flips the default 42:39 youtube.com/watch?v=dCUXug…

Dont put words in my mouth. I have written on Canada's rotten, Soviet style supply management system many times & always with the understanding that quotas must be bought out. Canadians have been ripped off by the system long enough.
Steve Redmond@sjredmond

@CoryBMorgan So you agree with him that supply management should end and farmers should receive no compensation for the more y they shelled out for the quota? I can't think of a faster way to end family dairy farming in Canada. End supply management, sure, but not at the expense of farmers.

@echipiuk @empoweredca Sincere q. Why spprt the usual "checks & balance" constitution model, like Cda/USA's when we know it always fails b/c power always corrupts? @Pardybruce's come up w/a genius alternative [No Force model] where the default POWER is NOT given 2 STATE. 42:39👇 youtube.com/watch?v=dCUXug…

@CanadaDefiant @PeymanAskari451 @PardyBruce Rights, a list of "Do's" are only needed b/c a nation's source of power always lies w/the all powerful STATE & these "Do's" are exempt from STATE power. Pardy does NOT put the power w/ the STATE so the PPL dont need a list of Do's, its the powerless state that gets a list of Do's

@PeymanAskari451 Tucker made a point: Rights must be universal, otherwise they are only privileges that can be removed. If universal, here are some other countries that should have a "right" to exist: Lebanon; Gaza; Venezuela; Cuba; 3rd Reich Germany; Imperial Japan, etc. @PardyBruce

After a decade of Liberal rule, why has the country deteriorated so badly that the government needs to pass more legislation that restricts us, while giving themselves more power to surveil, censor and control our lives?

@echipiuk Cda/USA system was designed giving STATE all the power. BrucePardy identifies the flaw & has the solution 2 fix structure. Do U want 2 keep same system which defaults all power w/STATE & carves out a few exceptions[Eg. rights]? How's that system worked? youtube.com/watch?v=dCUXug…

This is the ultimate example of how broken Canada is. We are watching, in real time, a system that is supposed to uphold the rule of law being used to work around it. Processes meant to protect fairness, accountability, and transparency are instead being stretched, manipulated, and, at times, outright ignored. What is most concerning is not just the individual decisions or actions, but the pattern. When rules become flexible for some and rigid for others, trust disappears. And once trust in the system is gone, rebuilding it is far more difficult than protecting it in the first place. No system is perfect, but it must at least be principled. If we allow the rule of law to be treated as a tool instead of a constraint, then we are no longer operating within a true democracy, we are operating within a system that picks and chooses when the rules apply. That should concern everyone.

@JudyMaxB Judy seems its only @PardyBruce's path that actually changes & fixes actual structure by flipping "power default" away from the all powerful STATE. The other paths seem 2 merge existing Fed & Prov power, concentrating top down gov in Edm & changing policys youtube.com/watch?v=dCUXug…

The Canada we loved, the Canada that some Albertans are wanting to loyally restore, it no longer exists. A divide that has existed for 120 years cannot be fixed, especially when everything Canadian politicians do right now, is to further divide us. For the Liberals it is very much on purpose. It’s the only way they can stay in power - divide and conquer. “By voting for Alberta independence we are not losing our identity - we are preserving it” If you are undecided please think very hard about exactly what you believe is worth preserving. Not just for yourselves, but for your children, your grandchildren and for their children. The path to future prosperity lies with Independence Please find a location and sign the Petition for Alberta Independence: stayfreealberta.com

I know that many Albertans, being the high trust, well-intentioned people they they are, choose to believe that Canadians are just misguided, but that we can work things out with them, if we’re just nice enough to them. As a guy who was born and raised in Toronto, I am here to tell you that there is nothing we can to to bridge our divide - I came to realize that Alberta is different from the rest Canada. It’s why I moved to Alberta, and have become an ardent supporter of #AlbertaIndependence. Sure, there are some people like me, who remain peppered throughout the ruins of what once was the Canada that exists in your memory, but that Canada of the 1990s is gone, and it’s never coming back. You think you’re preserving the Canada that exists in your mind, by voting to remain, but the exact opposite is true! Alberta is the last holdout, the lone remaining bastion of western civilization in this once-great country. Instead of clinging to nostalgia as the ship sinks, it’s time to launch the lifeboat, to protect Alberta! The only way to ensure that your kids grow up in a place like the one you grew up in, is to vote for #AlbertaIndependence. By voting for independence, you’re not giving up your identity, you’re preserving it.
