Is Alberta better off as a sovereign nation? In "The Case for Alberta’s Independence," the author dives deep into the economic, political, and cultural arguments for a sovereign Alberta. It’s time for a serious conversation about Alberta’s future. amazon.ca/Case-Albertas-…

The Aristotle Foundation for Public Policy
Taxpayers from each province pay into the federal treasury. The federal government then spends in each province and also transfers dollars to provincial governments. When the numbers were crunched by the University of Calgary School of Public Policy a few years back, per person net fiscal balances showed three provinces were net contributors and seven provinces were net recipients. @cnm5000 They built a space port. It's taking too long. Government stepped in and took over. Invested in 3 other Canadian companies as well to get it up and running and eventually have our own rockets rather than using space x. It takes less time to google than to rage on here.

Currently Canada doesn't have the ability to launch space projects on our own, instead relying on the United States. That means turning south for getting satellites into orbit. With this project, that will change. I'm happy to see this investment being made in Nova Scotia, with the new launch pad expected to come into operation by 2028. This is an important investment for Canadian sovereignty. Another reason why Nova Scotia is the defence capital of Canada. 🇨🇦

@cnm5000 It's a Spaceport built in Nova Scotia. Not Spaceport America. It was owned by MLC Canada. The feds are essentially taking over the lease of the land it's on with MLC to run maintain and build the additional pads. Mainly used for our DND. It also offers ad hoc access to allies.

SOUNDING THE ALARM Veteran RCMP Director WARNS Carney's police deal with Beijing is with the SAME Public Security Ministry operating ILLEGAL POLICE STATIONS in Canada. What could go wrong? Carney is SELLING OUT the security of Canadians to our BIGGEST NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT.

I’m a Senior from Nova Scotia, and I don’t ever remember a Prime Minister of Canada receiving so much praise from our nation’s legacy media for things he said he’ll do, but hasn’t delivered. It’s nothing but state sanctioned propaganda paid for by taxpayers.

"Canada’s story gets even more depressing when only young people under 25 are counted. The country then falls to 71st, another new low. Young people were once, on average, the happiest Canadian cohort; now they’re the most miserable. And when compared to 136 countries, that 10-year drop in life satisfaction is one of the largest in the world, placing Canada just four slots from the bottom." On nearly every metric -- economic growth, prosperity, and happiness -- Canada is failing. We need to start doing things dramatically differently to change our trajectory. Incrementalism won't cut it.
The Globe and Mail@globeandmail

In the country’s worst-ever showing in the 14 years that the report has been published, Canada ranked 25th out of 147 countries in the life-satisfaction standings. theglobeandmail.com/life/article-c…

“With low corporate tax rates, no provincial sales tax, a fantastic location for North American trade access, and a budding hub for innovation and technology, no one needs to guess how Alberta will run the show once the feds are gone.” WELLS: Western independence — why Alberta isn’t Quebec westernstandard.news/opinion/wells-… #

Much of the media coverage marking Mark Carney’s first year as Prime Minister has been celebratory. If you just read the headlines, you’d think the country made major strides over the past twelve months. But the numbers tell a more complicated story. Canada currently has the highest food inflation rate in the G7. The overall unemployment rate hasn’t improved much, while youth unemployment continues to climb. The national deficit has nearly doubled. Housing costs have remained high, and projects across the country are now stalled, in receivership, or seeing builders go bankrupt. Interprovincial trade barriers were supposed to be eliminated by July 1, 2025, yet they remain in place. Our tariff situation with the United States has also deteriorated. Maybe I’m missing something, but the economic indicators don’t line up with the narrative.
