@CBSEveningNews @tonydokoupil Appreciate the change in the CBS evening news. I did watch this evening. If something can be done about the number of pharma commercials, I watch more. The Pharma commercials are so depressing.

@VladTheInflator Not sure I understand your position on 401k. I’ve been putting between 8-10% of my income in 401k with a company match for 25 years. This is now over $2m with 50/50 split . This equates to $80k per year in retirement. Where is the scam ?

401ks are a scam used to reduce corporate costs related to pensions. 401k's weren't created so you could retire. 401k's where created to ensure you can never retire until you die.

What the HELL have I just watched?! Two police officers visit a family home to seize a child's phone for *viewing a social media post*. If she doesn't comply, they threaten to 'escalate'. This is terrifying. The police are out of control. twitter.com/DonnaLouise121…

@kiani_rumbo @Dr_RShatsky Disagree. Increase class size of existing medical school, open new medical school (every city has empty office spaces), government subsidies to build new facilities. Problem solved in 2-3 years max. Also ever survey number of doctors that didn’t match residency?

@SpelunkingL @Dr_RShatsky Yes and it should be done. Reform medical education as well. Open more medical colleges too. But all this is a15+ year project. Restricting foreign trained doctors today is not going to get us US born and trained doctors right away.

@Dr_RShatsky Every year US Doctors volunteer to go over seas for eye surgeries, cleft palates , etc . These 3rd world countries invest in educating doctors, we steal them for our ineffective education system

@Dr_RShatsky Can’t this easily be fixed ? I have a childhood friend, the government paid for his medical school (via armed forces) , he had to sign up for 6 years service. He covered Indian reservation in New Mexico to start his career.

@Dr_RShatsky Based on your logic we should steal folks from 3rd world where medical availability is scarce. How is this helping the world be better place? Because we are inefficient at educating doctors?

@Baxate_carter Complete BS . Daughter just finish STEM degree (Masters) in a top 10 university . Absolutely no entry level jobs. We have sent 500+ applications. Have spent north of 250k on education. You are not able to relate to today’s world.

“I’m not leaving” The same mindset that has 75+ year old members of Congress falling down stairs, breaking hips, staring off into space Just an absolute refusal to accept one’s own limitations and see the *societal value* of passing the torch to the next generation

@thejobchick Yes, this is very frustrating. My daughter graduated with a masters degree from a top 10 university. Engineering major. Worked endless hours on classes . Tuition + room + board was $100k . No job. The entire family is involved in helping find and apply for jobs.

Yikes! 😬 58% of students who graduated within the last year are still looking for their first job. It was 25% of graduates in previous years. fortune.com/2025/07/14/gen…

@texasrunnerDFW According to grok: Using 28% DTI ($203,571): Approximately 8%–9% of U.S. households (representing ~27–30 million people) can afford this payment, reflecting stricter lender standards.

@texasrunnerDFW Basically the interest rates have resulted in an additional $1250 per month for housing. A $4750 house payment would require $200k job.

Throughout history, there are many documented instances of “mass psychogenic illness" Basically periods where people collectively went insane Like the Dancing Mania or The Salem Witch Trials Anyway, I think the last 5 years are another one of these

You can tell caste based on last name, depending on region, but then there are also subcastes etc. to take into consideration. In any case, the Brahmin part here is irrelevant, especially since she is a second-gen Indian-American, who rarely have any connection with or knowledge of genuine Hinduism, let alone caste.

Just read a comment on the MIT graduation speaker suggesting her politics might be connected to what is claimed to be a Brahmin-coded surname and . . . is this a thing? Can you determine former caste from surnames? And if so, is there research on how this drives US politics?

Tonight, WTTW advertised for Thursday's anti-Trump whine-a-thon at Union Park. One of the panelists was Mrs. BS Lopez. You wouldn't know this because the good folks at WTTW introduced her as Loreen Targos, an EPA "scientist." Why hide who she is? And why call her a scientist when she is a career protest organizer?

@RobertMSterling Yes, I was wrong on this topic. The marijuana from 25 years ago was light beer compared to what is on the market today. Too much easy access to kids via gummies and phycosis for adults.
