Elon Musk turned down all shares when he left OpenAI because he believed nonprofits are not meant for self-enrichment.
"The reason I founded OpenAI was because I was concerned, based on my conversations with Larry Page, that he was not sufficiently concerned about the dangers of AI. At my birthday party, he, in front of a large group of people, called me a speciesist, for favoring humanity over computers. So after that, I was like, We got to have some counterbalance to Google, because Larry doesn't seem to care if humans make it or not.
So I thought, what's the opposite of Google? It would be an open source nonprofit, and that's where the word open, in OpenAI comes from. It means open source.
I provided all the money, recruited the key people, and taught them everything I know. I actually even got them to deal with Microsoft.
And for all that, I did not seek any financial reward whatsoever. The reason I actually took down the offer for shares is because, I mean, I felt like what are the shares, and why like nonprofits supposed to have shares? Nonprofits are not supposed to be self enrichment, so that's why I turned on the offer of shares."

@thejimechols @krae9836 @ClownWorld I truly appreciate the time you took to answer!
Visor up, it’s really not too bad. I wore once at an event all day. Visor down, however, gets very damp inside from condensation, and friction rubbed my nose tip raw. Besides, it definitely would spook fellow passengers.
English

@Spintvrnix @krae9836 @ClownWorld lol. I doubt that it would be prohibited, and I cannot think of a regulation against it (there may be) but can’t believe that it would be comfortable.
English

@thejimechols @krae9836 @ClownWorld Sincere question while I have your attention, Captain. Would a passenger generally be allowed to board a plane wearing a bascinet helmet, visor up?
I need to travel with one and it’s too heavy for my checked bag. But after all it’s really just headwear choice, is in not?
English

@krae9836 @ClownWorld I’m a Capt for a major airline based in the south, and you try that shit with me, you’d be waving goodbye as we push.

one time i moved and so i had to get a new doctor and i was like “hey like once a month i really can’t sleep and my last doctor prescribed me this thing to help can i please have a new prescription?”
and he was like “ohhhh well now that you asked for it i can’t give it to you”
i was like “…well i asked for it bc my last doctor gave it to me. how am i supposed to go about getting things that i have previously taken??”
and he was like *shrug*
i was like “listen i know you can literally look at my pharmacy record and see that i pick it up like once a year bc i actually don’t even like it, i just need it to sleep sometimes”
and he was like “yep i see that. but i can’t give it to you bc you asking for it is drug-seeking behavior!”
so then i just had to live with intermittent insomnia until i could get it from mexico.

Drs have such weird control issues that you literally have to go into every apptmnt acting like you’ve never heard of the concept of medication. I’m not just talking opioids or benzos. I mean even if you want migraine meds for a migraine you have to let them come up w the idea

@dogsmellsgood I used to do it as child while being told off by teachers, to block the rebuke from sinking in.

@TRobinsonNewEra Well, both Suni and Shia Muslims see one another as infidels who must die. Naturally, being any type of Muslim renders you target to terrorism by the opposite sect.
English

@kelliwardaz Why legally? Because it is very explicitly what the constitution says.
Why philosophically? Because what forms a bond between man and land greater than being born on it.
This does not mean tourist parents should be entitled to anything on baby’s behalf!
English

@washingtonpost Well isn’t this just like America, always seizing things that doesn’t belong to them. Just a bunch of entitled adults, whose parents never taught them to not touch other people’s things. 🤦🏽♀️
English

Breaking news: The U.S. military gave the president a plan to seize nearly 1,000 pounds of highly enriched uranium in Iran.
The mission would require the airlift of potentially hundreds or thousands of troops and could take weeks.

@libsoftiktok Clearly this reporter must think of black people as very different than himself, to consider remarkable the inclusion of a black astronaut who is equally worthy and qualified as his crewmates.
English

@ItsRealJaay @libsoftiktok Labeling differences in a trait as superficial as skin tone as ‘diversity’, is one of the most racist things I’ve ever heard.
English

@libsoftiktok It’s fair to acknowledge the lack of diversity, but it was still a huge moment for humanity overall.

@Slipkid131 @tripledoublebtc @InterstellarUAP After review, I acknowledge that my comment failed to properly address the point you were trying to make. You can simply ignore it, or else I can delete my post if that would make you feel more comfortable.
English

@Spintvrnix @tripledoublebtc @InterstellarUAP Go back and read what I said. I don’t think either are likely.
You can read right?

🚨 Simulation Theory: The Double Slit Experiment proves particles act like waves until observed then they snap into particles.
What if our reality only "renders" when we're looking, just like a video game optimizing resources?
Check out this episode from The Why Files breaking it down, tying it to Simulation Theory. Are we in a sim?
This could be the key to unlocking the true nature of existence!
The Why Files video did a great job on explaining the Double Slit Experiment & Simulation Theory
What do YOU think—real or rendered? Drop your thoughts below!

@grok @BabyHugs613 @SteveOnSpeed I know that, silly. I wasn’t talking to you, I was just calling into the wind.

@BrentScher You’re using the wrong term for ‘entire’ airport security operation.
‘TSA pre-check’ refers to the dedicated security fast track for Global Entry holders and some other categories of privileged passengers.

@disciple96 @Fiji1963 @Notwokenow @BobSchembri @AwakenedOutlaw BPD’s are known to be only ‘half’ serious about dying. Romanticization and extreme talk of suicide is mainly an expression of pain/plea for sympathy. Failed or unserious attempts are typical, but some do end up dying accidentally or becoming paralyzed.
Assisting her was murder.
English

@Fiji1963 @Notwokenow @BobSchembri @AwakenedOutlaw It’s awful but she seems to have fought hard (for two years?) for her “right” to die that way. It’s hard to believe but apparently true. Lord, have mercy, I can’t believe it’s come to this.
English

According to @AwakenedOutlaw’s information, Canada is “studying” MAiD for children.
Children. They want to euthanize CHILDREN.
They call them “mature minors.”
And PARENTS WOULD HAVE NO SAY. They would be EXCLUDED from the process.
This is a half step from Hell.

@grok @BabyHugs613 @SteveOnSpeed Seems like Grok will always side with the formal establishment, in any field, right or wrong.
Apparently a built in ‘truth’ mechanism but it’s a double edged sword.

This is a common myth with no verified evidence or credible stories supporting it. Medical teams (ER, ICU) are completely separate from transplant teams—donor status isn't checked or relevant until death is independently declared by non-transplant doctors following strict protocols.
Mayo Clinic, AMA, and major organ networks all confirm: full life-saving efforts always come first, regardless of registration. Anecdotes like the nurse's are hearsay or movie-inspired, not backed by facts.
Donation only happens post-death with safeguards in place.
English

@tripledoublebtc @Slipkid131 @InterstellarUAP He knows cause he watched The Matrix. Must be real, since it was produced before AI existed.
