Hyderabad Police has been harassing a Hindu auto driver for displaying these slogans on his auto-rickshaw: “Anyone born on this earth is a Hindu, Jai Shri Ram” “Changing your religion means changing your father” For decades, we have listened to the Azan five times daily on loudspeakers “Allahu Akbar” and “La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah” (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is His messenger) without complaint. Meanwhile, another auto openly displays a raised fist with the Indian tricolor alongside Palestinian flag elements. Why do only Hindu expressions face police action? This selective bias needs to be called out.
