Day 1 of our Leadership & Governance Retreat held on 20th November was rich, insightful, and deeply energizing.
We dug into the foundations of strong organizational & board governance; clarity, accountability, and purpose-driven leadership.
On November 3rd, the United Nations African Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFRI), led by Director General Dr. Edouard KITIO, had the honor of hosting Hon. Chris Rwakasisi, Chairperson of the PACEM HAVENS FOUNDATION. The foundation, a non-governmental organization founded by individuals formerly on death row, is dedicated to helping with the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-prisoners into society. During the meeting, the delegation discussed with UNAFRI several topics, including post-release offender support, the development and management of halfway homes, and the wider use of restorative justice approaches.
Further deliberations focused on the rehabilitation and transformation of ex-inmates, strategies to reduce recidivism, and the complex challenges that former prisoners often face when trying to reintegrate into their communities. Both organizations acknowledged the ongoing difficulties related to accessing essential services, such as finding employment, reconnecting with families, and overcoming the stigma linked to incarceration. In response to these issues, UNAFRI and the PACEM HAVENS FOUNDATION agreed to collaborate on initiatives involving training, research, and targeted support for current and former offenders. The partnership aims to promote meaningful change within the criminal justice system, ensuring that offenders have real opportunities for rehabilitation and successful reintegration, while also advocating for fairness and justice within the legal framework.
For some time now, I have been intrigued by General Muhoozi Kainerugaba's sudden change in persona and positioning on social media.
There's a lot that doesn't make sense to me.
I STRONGLY believe that what he portrays is a calculated move to 'CONFUSE THE ENEMY', and it appears he is succeeding at leading certain segments of Ugandans to downplay him.
Why do I think both Muhoozi and his father, Gen. Museveni, are reading from Sun Tzu's The Art of War and Robert Greene's 48 Laws of Power on confusing the enemy?
I certainly can't guess what Muhoozi is up to in detail, but it is not what we are all reading from the open book. There is certainly something else.
I refuse to underestimate him.
Only time will tell!
In marketing strategy, we call it DISRUPTION!
VIDEO: Hon. Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda says that out of Uganda’s 10 million youth aged 18 to 30, only 1 million own a bank account.

@eucarmiles@nbstv With access to mobile banking (via mobile money platforms), banks become an option rather than a necessity. Moreover, requirements for opening and maintaining a bank account can be prohibitive. I wonder: how can these alternative platforms be liveraged for financial inclusion?
@BuildUgCBO@nbstv@SemujjuNganda But he's quoting the census. I think to help the debate would be for you to provide a better interpretation of the census figures to counter his interpretation. What is your interpretation of the statistic? Simply trashing his views doesn't help the debate.
@nbstv@SemujjuNganda has bewitched ugandans they take what he blabs as Gospel Truth like it was with savo, sadly he can only be an mp nothing more. There is financial diversity now for the lay Uganda an account is not very important

Today morning as I was jogging in Muiden - Nederland, I saw a big farm with such big big cows 🐄. I said to myself “ i will go and have look and ask abt farming. I know am not on appointment and don’t know these people but well if they welcome me, it wud be great, if they don’t, glad I would have tried.”
I walked there. On my first sight, I met the wife who’s in her late 40’s. She was busy mowing grass. She smiled at me and I told her my issue. Well she said she’s busy but I can go ask her husband. As a big headed person I went to the husband, Pete. The guy is 54 yrs. He was busy fixing the farm tractor 🚜. Told him am Ugandan and interested in looking around to learn how their farm works.
He said “yes”. And that was the beginning of the entire 2 hours I spent with them. He showed me the food, the milk and the milking by the robot. He showed me feeds. What surprised me is the attitude he has towards his farm. He has been on this farm since day one of his birth. The farm has gone through generations. It was started 200yrs ago and it’s still going on.
In my time with him, I have learnt that the things we ignore most in Uganda 🇺🇬 are the things they take seriously. They work with a good attitude and get rich. Then the govt taxes them and gives us donations.
Farming is their solution. They love and farm with passion. In our land farming is for the old. A child sells of their land to start a phone business at Kooki towers.
Our mind needs to be reset.
@DailyMonitor I have gone through this road today. All sections through swamps and rivers are very low, almost sitting in the river. Won't be surprising if they fall in anytime. Poor engineering.
Villa-Maria- Kabulasoke Road has also been cut off by flash floods at another section of River Katonga, paralysing transport between Kalungu and Gomba districts.
