@MissKris10_RN @cmhaar0375 Kiffin supporting his black players at Ole Miss after the George Floyd incident. Quite the reach as it has nothing to do with MS, Oxford, or Ole Miss, but you do you. Take care and hope you can make it to Oxford next season.

@GeauxTigers050 @Ferncreeklodge @BrennonChapman Historically, I completely agree with you. Seriously. But lsu has to win something in this NIL era for your argument to be remotely valid moving forward. You put all your chips in Lane’s basket. Y’all are arrogantly confident. Only time will tell. See you in September.

@cobbssalad @its_The_Dr @spencerpratt @TMZ He’s simply saying that area is his home. Doesn’t matter where he lays his head. If you can’t understand that, then you just don’t want to. Just like TMZ.

I feel crazy reading these replies. I’m in team @spencerpratt and can’t stand @tmz at all, but if he doesn’t live there, he doesn’t live there, period. It’s disingenuous of him to say “this is where I live” when he hasn’t spent a single night there. This didn’t seem like a hit piece at all—it seems like Spencer poorly defending a demonstrably false statement.

@MissKris10_RN @DocE76 You’re the one missing the point. Find one sound bite from his 6 years at Ole Miss where he mentions racism in any context. He was taking the cheapest of shots whether you want to believe it or not. All for a recruiting advantage that he doesn’t need with LSU’s money. Right?

@StMartinReb @DocE76 And that was literally what Lane was talking about… PERCEPTION and what he personally experienced with a recruit’s family. But sure let’s freak tf out and twist everything he said to fit our false narrative.

@cmhaar0375 @MissKris10_RN It’s very believable. Some minds will never change no matter what OM does. What’s unbelievable is it happened often enough to hinder recruiting. That’s BS. He talked about big stadiums, Heisman trophies, championships, all of which LSU has, but never racism being a problem at OM.

@MissKris10_RN Why do they think it’s unbelievable that grandparents (raised during or just after the Civil Rights movement) from another part of the country would have reservations about sending their kid to a school in rural Mississippi?

@MissKris10_RN @DocE76 Unfortunately you only want to hear Bolden’s take on the situation, and he may be telling the truth about what he saw. Do you honestly think the KKK was welcomed to campus? Are you aware they were run off campus that day by fans and students of OM?

@MissKris10_RN @DMazz86 Kids weren’t allowed due to their preconceived racism at Ole Miss. Their perception was/is bull shit just like yours. People say things to support their position. If I believed everything I read on the internet about nurses, I’d have a sad preconceived opinion about you.

@DMazz86 No. I don’t. OM doesn’t only have a racist past, they have a racist present. There was more than one black person on these posts that were shared saying their kids or grandkids weren’t allowed to attend OM due to racism. See the video I just posted too.

@Jordan1819hu @negrosubversive @RebelSportsTalk No debate. The flag change was a long road. Had to wait for a generation or two to pass to get some traction. Most wanted the change but the politicians weren’t up to the fight so it would die in the Senate. Once the flag started costing MS growth and money they got motivated.

@slmandel I’ve been following you too long - I knew you’d jump to Miami as an example and yet it was still the only one out of 12 teams to play 4 rounds. With Indiana and Oregon being the only ones that had to play 3 rounds. Of course in the end agents will always ask for more money.

Two things that will absolutely happen if there is a 24-team CFP. * Players will demand to be paid more to play an extra round of games. * Agents of some top picks will recommend they opt out rather than take on the extra injury risk. Even NFL players don’t play 5 rounds.

@UAxolotlStuff It has been ever since the majority of the population was enslaved. My kids grew up in PG county MD & DC. The Black excellence epicenter of 🇺🇸 . We weren’t going to college experience being around Black people. But we also weren’t going to the epicenter of white supremacy either.

True story: when Ole Miss was recruiting my son, after listening to their pitch on a Zoom call, Kermit Davis, asked me if I had any questions. Me: “yes, the same one I had when u offered. Why would I, as a Black man, send my son to Mississippi to play basketball?” Them: “Um…”

@Jordan1819hu @negrosubversive @RebelSportsTalk It wasn’t a misquote, I shortened it as I was clearly talking about families of former MS slaves. Question was - why is MS the only state being discussed? We’re not the poster child for slave states. Unfortunately, your comments were a waste of time, but appreciate the effort.

@StMartinReb @negrosubversive @RebelSportsTalk “Decendents of MS’ enslaved population.” He retyped it for you & you still misquoted him lol. Specifying the fact that they’re decedents of slaves in MS lends credence to the idea that MS is where their familial/ancestral roots are…hence why they haven’t left……

@negrosubversive @RebelSportsTalk Descendants of enslaved population or descendants of slaves - do you see a difference? I don’t. Point is - MS isn’t unique to racism. There’s very little in today’s MS and certainly no more than anywhere else. Only those unwilling to open their eyes think otherwise.

Spiritually New Afrikan: The Negro Subversive
It was the only state being discussed until you chose to bring up all the other slave states for some odd reason. The term I used was “descendant of [Mississippi’s] enslaved population.” And yes they do choose to live there, just as many remained throughout Jim Crow when I think we can all agree Mississippi had a major problem with racism. Therefore, Mississippi’s high Black population, in addition to being tied to its history of slavery, is no evidence it doesn’t have a significant problem with racism.

@negrosubversive @RebelSportsTalk No, but it’s obvious MS is the only state being discussed. And again, the “descendants of slaves” as you call them choose to be here. Just like anyone else, they can get in a vehicle and cross any state line they want to; but no one is asking, suggesting or demanding they do so.

@RebelSportsTalk @negrosubversive Did I miss something, didn’t realize MS was the only slave state. I guess I should have new found appreciation for all those other states fighting for the Confederacy on Mississippi’s behalf. The black citizens of MS are here because it’s their home. They choose to be here.

@williams_ct @OleMissUnited Changing the perception of MS starts at home. That’s happening whether you like or not and you know it when people outside of the state keep bringing it up. So keep spreading the word, if it makes you feel better about Arkansas, but understand it’s slowly falling on deaf ears.

That narrative is outdated in 2026. People can joke about Mississippi all they want, but recruits aren’t choosing schools based on tired stereotypes anymore, they’re choosing fit, opportunity, and lifestyle. And when they visit Oxford and see Ole Miss, the truth hits different.
