Pour nuancer un peu : si tu regardes bien, EDF finance le projet, donc il y a probablement des ingénieurs français dans la boucle.
Sur le fond technique, le principe du refroidissement évaporatif est bien maîtrisé par les ingénieurs énergéticiens français. Ce qui aurait mérité d’être mis en avant, c’est ce qui différencie réellement ce système d’un simple humidificateur qu’on trouve sur Amazon, et pourquoi le climat sahélien est particulièrement adapté : l’air y est chaud et sec, avec une humidité relative basse, ce qui laisse une grosse marge pour refroidir efficacement par évaporation d’eau, sans dégrader le confort.
Plutôt que d’opposer les ingénieurs entre eux, ce qui est intéressant ici c’est l’innovation par le bas : faire plus avec moins, en utilisant des matériaux locaux comme la terre cuite. C’est cette approche low-tech qui a une vraie valeur, et qui peut s’appliquer bien au-delà du Sahel. D’ailleurs, la startup Caeli à Grenoble travaille exactement sur ce créneau du refroidissement adiabatique.
Bref, le sujet mérite mieux qu’un tacle aux ingés français: l’angle low-tech et frugalité est bien plus porteur.

Sometimes you can work with the square if the radius only, so no need to take the sqrt. If you're using something like a GPU, the conditional branching could be much worse for performance than taking a sqrt.
