Hey @airbnb, looking for a place to stay is a giant pain in the ass. 3 married couples, all 40+, & majority of places I get are like 1 queen, 3 bunk beds, 2 sofa beds, & a couch. Has nobody ever thought to make a filter to only show beds for ADULTS. This is not rocket science.

@KYGOP When has any of those "problems" actually been a problem? Has there ever been massive voter fraud because somebody didn't have to show their ID? Have electronic voting machines ever, verifiably, been hacked or tampered with? Try finding solutions to REAL problems.

@EmilieMcKiernan Taught HS a few years, now at one of the community colleges. If the govt addressed education properly it would fix a lot of other problems. Not all, but a hell of a lot.

One of my biggest issues with academia is that the reward for being incompetent at service is less service, and the reward for being good at service is more service, which can lead to unequal (+ very often gendered) service distributions. Any tips for dealing with this?!

@WalshFreedom You're both right but aren't talking about the same thing. We *should* be able to assume candidates are truthful, ideally, but we *can't* in reality since people lie, cheat, & steal to get elected. Both point to how fucked up govt, society, & people in general actually are.

Sorry…NO. There should be ZERO expectations politicians are truthful. As a candidate, your goal is to win. It’s YOUR job to vet your opponent. And if you find out your opponent is lying about EVERY aspect of his life, it’s YOUR job to yell that from the mountaintops. Every day.

Had a car trip that should have take 19 hours BALLOON TO 28 HOURS of driving because there was so much standstill traffic. Our airports are broken. Our rail is a joke. Our highways were built for an era with 1/3 as many cars. Why the f*** can’t we actually fund infrastructure?
