In the @DLoesch interview, Jay and Dana talked about the “steak controversy” for about 2 minutes. Then—shocking, I know—they spent the next ~7 minutes discussing the Iran war (you know… the sort of thing a veteran might actually have something to say about), drone and terror threats, domestic security, a self-defense incident, and abolishing property taxes in Florida. If even one of you had actually watched the clip instead of relying on Dan’s lazy attempt to have ChatGPT watch it for him and scrape together a joke, you all probably wouldn’t be posting such spectacularly dumb takes... well at least not that dumb take🤣
Long Monkeypox@podiatristdon

You conducted an interview with a candidate who’s running for FL Gov (barely) and talked about steak for 9 minutes and brought up property tax during the last 60 seconds. Congrats I guess.

I told him not to run because he wasn’t ready to run a statewide campaign and still isn’t. At the time I told him that, I was just giving Jay honest advice. I didn’t meet with Renner until January. I wish I had met with him sooner. Like many of you, I had written him off, but I shouldn’t have. Renner is the best candidate we have and actually ready to be Governor. I hope DeSantis chooses to endorse. Anyway, Jay refused advice not just from me, but many of his own advisors and decided to run. Immediately after, his only two campaign consultants quit. Consultants told him not to run. His Deputy Chief of Staff told him not to run. He’s not getting support from the governor. He alienated so many people in the EOG. Within 30 days, he lost 75% of his staff. Collins instead listens to “advisors” who care more about destroying Fishback than anything else. That’s not someone ready to be Florida’s governor. It’s nothing personal from me, it’s just calling it how it is, because I care about Florida’s future. Jay isn’t going to win. He just isn’t the guy, as much as I originally hoped he would be. You’re free to disagree with me and support whoever you choose (have you all learned nothing from primaries??), and I’m free to support the candidate of my choice without all of the false accusations. I’ve earned my stripes in showing I always choose principle over person. It’s really a shame that so many people are really willing to lose friends over disagreements or tear down good people like Christina and Taryn over politics. At the end of the day, I think everyone who isn’t an insane leftist actually wants the same thing: someone who can match DeSantis’s wins for Florida. Keep your focus there, not on tearing each other down. (Except for Byron. Tear that lying hack of a dude down all day.)

Florida has grown incredibly fast over the past 6 years. Our infrastructure needs to catch-up. Under my leadership, we will implement regional planning across our state to increase efficiency, expedite permitting, complete much-needed infrastructure projects and reduce traffic.

MAHA MAHEM RFK Jr.’s vaccine shake-up just hit a wall. A federal judge blocked the overhaul, saying the government ignored the scientific and legal process behind those decisions. floridianpress.com/2026/03/federa…

@ScottforFlorida @UF I guess we know where our U.S. Senator stands on free speech. The silver lining here is these guys are making it much easier of us voters, to figure out where your alliances actually are.

Antisemitism has no place in the Republican Party, higher education or our country. Grateful to @UF for working with the FFCR to stand with Jewish students and resolve this quickly.
FLORIDA@UF

The University of Florida was recently informed by the Florida Federation of College Republicans (FFCR) that it has disbanded the local chapter of College Republicans (the Local CR).  This request is based on the FFCR’s findings that some Local CR members engaged in a pattern of conduct that violated its rules and values, including a recent antisemitic gesture. The FFCR also requested that the university deactivate the Local CR as a registered student organization while it looks to reorganize and pursue reinstatement under new student leadership. The University of Florida has emphatically supported its Jewish community and remains committed to preventing and addressing antisemitism and other forms of discrimination and harassment that are threatening and disruptive to our students and to the teaching, research and expressive activities of the campus community. The university also supports the rights of organizations, such as the FFCR, to take decisive action in addressing conduct that is antithetical to its principles. In compliance with its policies, the University of Florida is in the process of deactivating the Local CR as a registered student organization.  When the FFCR is ready, the university will also assist it with reactivating the Local CR under new student leadership.
