Everyone crying about "AI slop" is completely missing what's actually happening in gaming right now. Nvidia just dropped DLSS 5 at GTC today, and yes, it is actually real-time generative neural rendering. Now I to was worried about hallucinating frames. But DLSS 5 takes the ground truth of the game (the 3D geometry and motion vectors) and uses a generative AI model to completely redraw the lighting, shadows, skin subsurface scattering, and materials. Akin to a Hollywood-tier VFX filter over every single frame as you play!

@oliver_drk Idk what stats or posts you're seeing but 9/10 say it's AI slop and rightfully so. Upscaling, frame gen and such were niche but at least they kinda help. Completely changing one's look is a whole other story. Not everything needs hyper realism.
