I’ve been reliably informed many times over the last year that only the left cheers when their political opponents die. Does the president count?

Throughout the past few years of full-scale war in Ukraine, you'd be hard pressed to go into a cafe or restaurant in Kyiv and not encounter some American commercial drone firm representative, or from some other emerging defense technology company, at a meeting with a Ukrainian colleague. Not long ago, I met with the commander of one Ukrainian unit who offered his training range to any U.S. firms that wanted to test their drones against the latest electronic warfare threats. He even offered to take U.S. drones to the front line to test them in combat and to have his soldiers provide detailed after-action reports for the American engineers. His price? That his soldiers could simply keep whatever equipment they tested. These are soldiers fighting for their nation's survival. Back home, their families are under daily bombardment by Russia's missiles and drones. And yet, they take time away from their immediate warfighting priorities to educate Americans in the lessons they've learned throughout 12 years blood and toil against Russia's invasions, dating back to 2014. Because of this, an entire industry of U.S. drone warfare startups has emerged and owes its existence to the lessons our Ukrainian friends have been willing to share.

I’m saddened to hear about the death of Bob Mueller. I will always remember him as the new FBI Director who was one week into his job when 9/11 happened. He helped protect our country, re-organize the FBI to fight terrorism, and served our nation well. He was a pleasure to work with. May he rest in peace.

I hate having a president who celebrates when people die. Basic respect and human decency are still worth caring about, even if a large number of people have decided that’s lame and old-fashioned. I hope we recover that before long.

@brithume @StartledN And hate Trump’s cultists who reflexively defend his disgusting statements -many of whom are even now commenting on this post. It is going to take a long time for the GOP and the US to heal once Trump is out of office and reduced to conning his cultists out of their savings.

This is the kind of stuff Trump does that makes people not just oppose him but hate him. There was no need to say anything.

Whether this post is correct or not regarding Trump's remarks, it should be pointed out that Robert Mueller grew up privileged. Maybe his family didn't have money like Trump's but they had more than enough to buy a doctor during Vietnam. However, Mueller enlisted in the Marines out of Princeton and saw extensive combat. He was no "chicken hawk" like many of you "bums" who post. I say this as a 1969 Draftee who served. What did President "Jerk" do?
