Honored to be part for the prestigious USA🇺🇸 International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) @StateIVLP on "Advancing an Open and Secure Digital Economy" following my nomination by the @USEmbassyUganda Day 1 in Washington, D.C. offered a meaningful introduction not just to the capital, but to the values, history, and global leadership it represents. From iconic landmarks to powerful institutions, it set the tone for what promises to be a transformative journey of learning, exchange, and connection. I look forward to engaging, learning and sharing insights along the way, and ultimately translating these experiences into meaningful impact back home in Uganda 🇺🇬 @IVLPUganda #IVLP #GlobalLeadership #DigitizeUG

At #IFF2026, the Deal Room - organized by KIFC in partnership with the African Management Institute (@africamanager), brought together a curated group of fintech startups and connected them with venture capital, private equity, institutional investors, and banks to explore concrete investment opportunities. In his remarks, @JKananura, Chief Investment Officer at KIFC, emphasized the need to move from conversations to capital. He highlighted Rwanda’s ambition to position itself as a platform where innovators can access investors, structure deals, and scale across Africa. Alongside startup pitches, the program also included masterclasses designed to strengthen founders’ investment readiness and engagement with investors.

In 1975, school fees per term at Ntare School in Mbarara were 250 shillings. I saw this on my uncle's fee slip. Adjusted for inflation, 250 shillings of 1975 is about 38,000 shillings in 2026. When we say life is very expensive today, it's not just grumbling. It really is.

Surprised Mrs Leeds with her dream car. Not because of the car but because she is the woman who backed me before the wins and stayed when it was hard. His and hers felt right.

Many young people I often work with find meetings boring or admit their joy is in execution rather than strategising. If this is something you subscribe to, I reckon your most important task is changing your mindset - good strategies ease execution and reduce failure. Prepare.

Today I joined the inaugural Kampala Blockchain Summit for a fireside chat that opened with a clear challenge. With Africa on the verge of becoming the largest working-age population in the world, how do we use innovation and emerging technologies to raise productivity and drive the region’s growth? Productivity is the next frontier. Without it, the demographic dividend becomes a missed opportunity. Uganda has set an ambitious goal to grow our economy from USD 50 billion to USD 500 billion by 2040, built on digital transformation and industrialization. For that vision to hold, we have to start with access. We need to get our youth online and equip them with the skills to use technology in ways that create opportunity. Without that foundation, innovation benefits a few when it should power national transformation. During the fireside chat, Dr. Twinemanzi and I explored one of the biggest questions in emerging technology: how do you regulate at a speed that keeps up with innovation? The experience from mobile money is still relevant today. Innovation will always run faster, but regulation does not have to slow it down. When regulators and innovators stay in conversation, regulation becomes an enabler. Stablecoins today sit where mobile money sat fifteen years ago. Having worked with pioneering companies that shaped Africa’s first digital currency wave, I have seen how progress accelerates when both sides commit to collaboration. That is how trust is built and how innovation scales safely. #BlockchainUganda #KampalaBlockchainSummit2025
