The Transcontinental Gas PipeLine Company has submitted a new application to FERC for the Southeast Supply Enhancement Project, which would be the largest methane gas expansion in the south since the Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley pipelines. This project aims to power methane gas-fired plants, but could threaten climate goals, impact local communities, and burden ratepayers while fueling speculative energy demand from data centers. southernenvironment.org/press-release/…

.@EPA is promulgating a regulation to facilitate compliance with the requirements of the Waste Emissions Charge in the Clean Air Act’s Methane Emissions Reduction Program. This program requires EPA to impose and collect an annual charge on methane emissions that exceed waste emissions thresholds specified by Congress.
