Delivering Results for American People: We are thrilled that Biman Bangladesh Airlines signed its largest-ever deal today to purchase 14 Boeing aircraft. This deal will create over 19,000 American jobs, modernize Biman's fleet, and honor Bangladesh's commitment in our Agreement on Reciprocal Trade—a testament to the growing economic partnership between our countries.

During his visit to Kathmandu today, Special Envoy Sergio Gor paid a courtesy call on Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Shisir Khanal. The two held constructive and productive discussions on deepening bilateral cooperation across several promising domains, with particular emphasis on expanding trade and advancing initiatives under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

Today SCA Special Envoy Sergio Gor and DAS Bethany Morrison spoke with Maldivian Foreign Minister @IruthishamAdam about the U.S.-Maldives relationship. On the call, the FM helped clarify recent statements by the Maldivian President. The Minister reiterated that the President of Maldives wanted a positive relationship. We look forward to future engagements.

Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor is in Tajikistan for bilateral consultations. Today he called on Foreign Minister Muhriddin, where they discussed strengthening relations between the United States and Tajikistan. Over the next few days, Special Envoy Gor will work to advance a U.S.-Tajikistan partnership that enhances security and economic opportunity for both nations.

Great discussion with Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle about efforts to improve the business climate and attract U.S. companies to Nepal. Closer business ties will boost Nepal’s transportation, energy, and digital infrastructure bringing economic growth that benefits both of our countries. -- S. Paul Kapur

Important discussion with industry leaders about expanding U.S. business opportunities in Nepal’s ICT sector. Also discussed ways to bolster digital infrastructure, AI adoption, cybersecurity, and sharing U.S. technology prowess. -- S. Paul Kapur

PRESS SEC on U.S.-Iran negotiations: The Pakistanis have been incredible mediators and we really appreciate their friendship and efforts to bring this deal to a close.  The President feels it's important to continue to streamline this communication through the Pakistanis.

Met with Kyrgyz Republic Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev today. We discussed strengthening economic cooperation including American business investment opportunities. Through the C5+1 platform, we will continue the work towards regional security and cooperation.

Met with Kazakhstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Zhumangarin and Special Representative for Negotiations with the United States Kazykhan today to strengthen commercial ties and advance regional cooperation.

I welcomed Kyrgyz Republic’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Meder Abakirov today for our Annual Bilateral Consultations. We discussed enhancing our commercial ties for American businesses to invest in Kyrgyz Republic, collaboration on immigration enforcement, engagement through the C5+1 platform, and security cooperation. -- S.
