@CheriJacobus I think the more accurate avenue of thought would be that he put himself in Trump's first admin to protect his FATHER since it was DON Barr that opened Epstein the door and gave him a head start as a math teacher at the prestigious Dalton School of Economics W/O qualifications.

Kinda seems like Bill Barr installed himself as Trump’s AG solely so he could protect Trump and the other Epstein criminals, just like Bondi is doing.

Dems like censoring ‘misinfo’ on social media. Of course, 'misinfo' really means 'info Dems don't like.' They censored the lab leak theory (which was clearly true!), while making social media sites tell us to wear masks 24/7. Truth Social & GETTR have always put free speech first. @SBF__Truth" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">truthsocial.com/@SBF__Truth gettr.com/user/SBF_GETTR

@alecTrading ah, the classic “one of the greatest comeback stories” narrative. because everyone loves a tragedy turned profit. let’s not pretend this is anything but another manufactured redemption arc for the media to milk. the system never changes, just the faces.

He was using drugs between holes at Augusta National. Contemplating suicide for two decades. Couldn't walk into rehab without help. Today he just beat two of the best golfers alive. One of, if not the greatest sports comeback stories of all time: Anthony Kim. Father. Husband. Three-time PGA Tour winner before age 25 - alongside only Tiger, Phil, Sergio, and Adam Scott. Then his Achilles ruptured in 2012. He vanished, for twelve years. He was battling drug and alcohol addiction daily. Using during majors. Making bathroom stops between holes just to get through the round. Contemplating ending his life for almost two decades while the world thought he was living the dream. His body eventually shut down. He could barely walk into rehab. His wife Emily and daughter Bella pulled him back. He got a second chance with LIV Golf in 2024. Finished dead last. Didn't earn a single point in two full seasons. Got relegated from the league in August. Most people would've quit. He showed up every single day and worked to get 1% better after being cut from the league. He earned his spot back through a qualifying tournament on pure merit. Today, in the final round at LIV Adelaide, playing alongside Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm - two of the biggest names in golf - he came back from a 5-shot starting deficit and has just shot nine under to win the golf tournamnet. This man was ready to leave this earth. Now he just did the unthinkable. If that doesn't prove you can come back from anything, nothing will. It's never too late. @livgolf_league @AnthonyKim_Golf #LIVGolfAdelaide

One of the most interesting aspects of Cambodia that I've noticed so far (I've only been here for 3 days) is its payment ecosystem. It's the strangest mix: 1) most business in the country is conducted in US dollars (when you buy something in a shop you typically pay in USD) 2) most payments are made via a QR code-based "everything app" called ABA Mobile that's basically a clone of Alipay. And deeply integrated with Alipay: in fact I didn't even download ABA Mobile, I scan all the ABA QR code through Alipay and it just works. 3) ABA Mobile is developed by ABA Bank (Advanced Bank of Asia), which is a 100% subsidiary of the National Bank of Canada 4) It apparently all works off the back of a Cambodian sovereign blockchain system called Bakong, which is a quasi-central bank digital currency powered by Hyperledger Iroha, developed by Japanese firm Soramitsu So basically in Cambodia I'm paying in USD via a Cambodian Blockchain (Bakong) developed by the Japanese (Soramitsu), using a Chinese App (Alipay) interconnected with a payment system owned by the Canadians (ABA). You couldn't make it up 😅

@AlSultan_Meriam @elonmusk @StefanFSchubert He merely stated that a fact which you generally agree with. If those without children are uncomfortable with Elon's tweet, they must find a way to make peace with their reality. We need to move away from the expectation that must aid others in maintaining their projections.

But Elon, it was insensitive to describe people without children as such There are many great people who either don’t want kids or struggle to have them but they can’t. Not everyone can afford IVF. I do think that having kids change humans and make them wiser compared to their childless selves, but can’t eliminate humans based on having kids or not.

@ambtrader @mlbushnell81 @TheChiefNerd My read of his comment is... His believing it wasn't predicated on Obama. His belief that this is a problem was formed when he experienced it first hand. He is merely happy that Obama, and likely moderate Dems in general, now share the view that this is a problem.

@lynk0x Because you've outsourced your agency to societal constructs. If you spend enough time looking inside you'll realize that chasing modern abstractions is just a hedonistic treadmill. Interestingly, wealth comes easier once you do this work and stop resisting the flow of life.

@blockchaingod69 @AvidCommentator Canada is the same on the property front, but the discourse has still shifted. Gotta be another factor imo. Property is part of it, but y'all are unique in a way I don't fully understand lol

This has been the norm in finance for ages, ever since we’ve had algorithms that can have big real-world impact without much human intervention. Now that every other domain is catching up with that, it’s time to enforce the same norms.

I think we should be enforcing strong norms that a human who deploys an algorithm into a live environment is responsible for its behaviour. Up to and including — if the algorithm does anything that results in a law being broken, the human can be punished for it.
