Reform UK’s Zia Yusuf promises to cut fuel duty—while his boss Farage pockets £3,125 an hour from GB News and owns £3m in property. The party of the “working class” is run by millionaires selling you a dream they’ve already cashed in on. Don’t buy it. 🤡⛽️💷

@SteelBookBluRay @thedudebecool It would have to drop by £20 for me to even consider it! Don’t see that happening because the label dictates the sell price on sites like Zavvi from day 1 of pre-order.

@ThisisWalter89 Yeah. I'm made some enquiries to try confirm if it's an error or not. Fingers crossed. Otherwise I'll be waiting for the standard release

@SteelBookBluRay And that stupid price is why I won’t be buying it. When the UK 4K limited edition of Hard Boiled is £30, there’s literally zero chance I’m paying £50 for this.

@thedudebecool It is. Hoping it's just the RRP and the retailers all drop it before release. Otherwise I'll pick up the inevitable amaray release

🧵And we're off, ladies and gentlemen! It's "they're banning the word EASTER" week. Regular as clockwork... So here comes a history lesson and media lesson all rolled into one thread! PS, I can't believe there's no easter egg emoji? This was the best I could do - 🗿🥚 🤣 I digress! 1/19

The story now emerging concerning Richard Tice and the revelation that he avoided nearly £600,000 in tax should give voters considerable pause for thought about the character of those who now present themselves as custodians of the nation’s future. It is not merely the sum involved that invites scrutiny. Rather, it is the striking contrast between public rhetoric and private conduct that deserves careful examination. Figures who spend much of their time lecturing the British public about duty, patriotism, responsibility, and sacrifice might reasonably be expected to demonstrate those same principles in their own affairs. Yet the emerging picture suggests something rather different. While millions of working people across Britain meet their obligations to the Exchequer every month without the benefit of elaborate financial arrangements, certain political figures appear remarkably adept at structuring their affairs in ways that significantly reduce their own contribution. Nor does the matter end with Mr Tice alone. His partner, Isabel Oakeshott, has herself attracted considerable criticism in relation to her financial and residential arrangements. She resides in Dubai and holds residency within the United Arab Emirates, a jurisdiction well known for its highly favourable tax environment. This is not a temporary convenience or occasional base. It is a deliberate choice of residence in a system where personal taxation is structured very differently from that in Britain. The contrast is therefore difficult to ignore. From comfortable studios and residences abroad, commentary is delivered about how Britain should be governed, how its taxes should be structured, and how its citizens should shoulder their responsibilities. Yet the financial structures that sustain those voices appear carefully arranged within a system that allows them to avoid the very tax burden that ordinary British citizens cannot escape. Meanwhile Britain must continue to fund its hospitals, its schools, its infrastructure, and its national defence. These responsibilities fall squarely upon the millions of citizens who live and work within the country and who have neither the means nor the opportunity to relocate their financial lives to advantageous international jurisdictions. What makes this particularly galling is the moment in which it occurs. The country faces economic pressure, global instability, and the continuing strain placed upon public services. At such a time, those who seek influence over the nation’s direction ought to demonstrate the highest standards of public responsibility and personal example. Instead the electorate is confronted with a political movement whose most visible figures appear entirely comfortable criticising the British state while arranging their own affairs so that their contribution to it is kept to a minimum. The question that follows is therefore both simple and unavoidable. If those who aspire to govern Britain choose to live beyond its tax system, why should the British public trust them with the responsibility of running it?

Classic Farage. Once faced with the actual responsibility of running things instead of frog marching around complaining like Basil Fawlty, he finds things aren’t always as easy to fix as to moan about, and throws a hissy fit saying they shouldn’t have bothered. Unfit for office.
