@tommym8 His average is not very good this season, but is his swing any better than it was a month ago? He looks like he chops at the ball or something, as his swing has always been a bit odd. Savant shows some hard hit and other nice metrics. Is there progress looming?

Trent Grisham had 44 extra base hits including 34 HR’s in 2025….
He had 1 double in 41 AB’s this spring….
Look at the spacing he’s creating at the plate this spring and you’ll get a glimpse of why he’s having a hard time hitting the ball hard into fair territory….
The spacing a hitter creates for himself is always determined by his prehension…..It’s easy to optimize if you understand how the CNS produces motion.
If you don’t understand how the body produces motion but you can follow simple directions like “ stand like this before you put your hand here” or don’t put your hand there while you are looking there” you can optimize your mechanics in a matter of seconds…
As far as hitting is concerned, you just swing when your eyes tell you to.

@CloserMonkey Orioles go with Garcia in the 7th in a close game. He does his job. Kittredge on the other hand does not.

Hey @CleGuardians - take a look at this...
Prehension Athletics@tommym8
Travis Bazzana had 14 career HR’s while hitting .252 over three classes of the minors prior to his recent promotion with the Guardians. He hit .407 with 28 HR’s his last season in college leading to his 1st overall selection in the 2024 draft…. Travis used the muscles of motor tract 1 on his right side in college… He’s used the muscles of motor tract 5 his entire time as a professional. College on left vs pro on the right.
English

@tommym8 So what did he change, because he is definitely broken now.
English

Matt McLain hit is 4th HR of the spring today….
Matt’s been using the muscles of motor tract 2 on his left side and motor tract 1 on his right side….
Here’s a side by side with a swing of his from last year when he was using motor tract 5 on his left side and motor tract 1 on his right side…
MT 2 uses the levator scapulae to move the scap, MT 5 uses the trapezius…
Look how different his neck looks at contact
This is because the levator scapulae doesn’t attach to the head and the trapezius does….
Matt’s just playing baseball….His body is moving like it does because of his prehension.

@SteelCitySluggs I had c-elig Herrera well ahead in the offseason. He looks good under the hood, but results have been meh. Willing to stick with him bc he’s playing everyday and hitting 2nd. Jensen showing good power but will likely have fewer PA, lower avg, and fewer sb (I think)
English

@jonnyroto And of course Ivan just hit a dinger. I should have bet all my worldly possessions on that today.
English

@RotoGut That’s exactly the question right? It’s like trying to pick your favorite child or dog. Really like both, almost can’t go wrong. I also have FOMO in most of my fantasy dealings.
English

@SteelCitySluggs depends if you prefer risky upside with power, or safe and stable production
English

@tommym8 I know you did a write up for Ivan Herrera last year, but looking to compare him and Carter Jensen this season. Who’s the better hitter in your estimation?
English

@RotoGut I can’t decide if I should grab Ivan and drop Carter…
English

@RotoGut I grabbed Carter Jensen off the waiver wire early on this year. I had Ivan last year and it paid off well… hmmm
English

@PeepMySlashLine Do I drop Carter Jensen for him? Decisions decisions
English

@FantasyForager Only issue I see is Raley does not bat against LHP. Against RHP, play him but otherwise he cannot be an everyday player.
English

Luke Raley (L) (SEA) is 11/25 (.440) over the last 7 days.
1B Raley is available in 78% of leagues.
Additional Stats: 1 HR, 5 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB

Upcoming:
LHP MacKenzie Gore (2.76),
RHP J.T. Ginn (5.14),
LHP Jacob Lopez (6.48),
RHP Aaron Civale (2.70),
RHP Andre Pallante (1.80)
English

@tommym8 there is so much in your feed and I love it. Have you or could you explain the dynamics of a LHB vs a LHP and why most(?) batters struggle in that matchup? Why are some batters more successful than others?
English

@MattyChucks Have you seen K lines changed any this season with the advent on ABS? I would think that umpire history had / has an impact on the set lines. I would suspect that lines might now be a tick lower, with introduction of more honest strike zones. Thoughts?
