Let's have a Bishop of London who ordains women and accepts the spiritual authority of our archbishop of Canterbury - please, Anglicans, sign this petition to say this is what we want for the biggest diocese in our country c.org/y6TgNJ9QMY

This string from 2022 explains the basic background to the ongoing, usually deliberately hidden, use of PCC resolutions to exclude women from @churchofengland ministry & leadership opportunities. #TransparencyAboutPCCResolutions

🧵 Summary of the transparency issue that is affecting women in the @churchofengland: 1 In the 8 years since women were finally ‘allowed’ to be bishops, a problem has developed in the church.

‘Establish a Culture of Trust’ was the headline. Trust in the #womenbishops settlement went years ago, because @churchofengland leaders turned a blind eye to the lack of compliance with the agreed terms. Now there’s a generation of male clergy who know they can get away with it.
Lizzie Taylor@Steeplekeeper

@WATCH_ACT @ChurchTimes I wish the @churchtimes was better informed editorially, about the unaddressed problems & lack of compliance with the terms of 2014 settlement. I hoped that would improve over the last year. But Katie Stock’s article -even the headline & subheading were uninformed. #NotEqualYet

1 This article is unbalanced: it doesn’t acknowledge that clergy opposed to equality for women in ministry have not followed the 2014 Declaration terms (e.g. parish consultations, reviews, vocation referrals), which were agreed in good faith. So the agreement is already history.

@WATCH_ACT So much in this @churchtimes article is incorrect. ‘Establish a Culture of Trust’ Really? When that’s been irretrievably broken by the excluders of women priests for 10 years+ ? It says they feel under resourced: they’ve c 7% of @churchofengland bishops for c 4% of parishes. Etc

Is it really true that they’d dare to [heavy] the PCC members, & then also have the audacity not to consult their own @churchofengland congregations, who actually pay for their ministers’ stipends & their church’s bills. Will churchgoers even be told what they’re funding? #LLF
Madeleine Davies@MadsDavies

In light of the LLF decision, I'm curious as to whether the Alliance will still pursue plans to get PCCs on board. The plan referred to having individual conversation with PCC members but to what extent are congregations aware? thinkinganglicans.org.uk/wp-content/upl…

@MadsDavies There’s no reference to consulting the ‘wider church community’ in order for the PCC to ‘signal the wish of the parish’, as was agreed in the 2014 arrangements re women’s ministry. So churchgoers’ (who pay for the ministry) wishes don’t matter to the Alliance leaders. @WATCH_ACT

Please help identify which @churchofengland churches have leaders that are excluding women from equal ministry with men, so that ordinary churchgoers can be aware & choose which church to attend or avoid.
Women and the Church@WATCH_ACT

Can you help with this? We’ve been contacted by a number of people who say that our list, compiled from the #MaleOnlyPriesthood societies’/bishops’ own lists, needs corrections! If you know of any inaccuracies or additions to this list, please email: admin@womenandthechurch.org

Historic news for global Anglicanism today! - The majority of Anglicans worldwide are, as of today, officially disaffiliated from the Church of England. - GAFCON (Global Anglican Future Conference) has declared itself the Global Anglican Communion. - The Global Anglican Communion (GAC) will have its own Council of Primates, which will elect a chairman, a *primus inter pares* (first among equals)—whose role will supersede that of the Archbishop of Canterbury. - There is "only one foundation of communion, namely the Holy Bible"—there is now no official, institutional inclusion of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lambeth Conference (of Anglican bishops in communion with the Church of England), etc., which have "failed to uphold the doctrine and discipline of the Anglican Communion."

Women are human beings & Jesus died for women as much as men. Jesus lifts up those whom others oppress & God calls women to lead his ppl & his church, as we see in the OT & NT. Frankly your harmful theology is not Bible-based it is Bible-abusive and is a form of spiritual abuse.
