Cadbury was founded in Birmingham in 1824. In 2010, it was acquired by an American company. Today, much of the profit from one of England's best-known chocolate brands flows to overseas shareholders. The UK chocolate market is worth over £8 billion a year. If just 10% shifted to English-made producers, that's £800 million supporting businesses, jobs and investment here. We're building MadeInEngland.com to make it easy to find them.

A family who can’t afford to feed their kids is not going to spend £200 going to a theme park. And what difference does a “saving” of less than £1.70 make on a £200 family outing? Trevor Philips ridicules’ Darren Jones’ defence of Labour’s absurd Government by gimmick policy.

@RachelReevesMP @RupertLowe10 @Nigel_Farage @Keir_Starmer @bbclaurak Rachel Reeves, I planned carefully for retirement. A North Norfolk holiday-let barn was meant to provide income, pay tax, employ cleaners, use local trades and support a holiday letting business. On an example £1,000 booking, after the £180 commission, £150 cleaning and laundry costs, £50 electricity, £40 water and £40 council tax, only £540 remains before maintenance and repairs. After 25% corporation tax, that falls to £405. If the remaining income is then taxed at 40%, the owner is left with just £243 from the original £1,000 booking. Remember, this is before allowing for any maintenance, repairs, insurance or mortgage costs. And the electrical PAT testing last year was needed. Now that company will receive no further income. It is becoming impossible for a small Limited company to earn money. How coffee shops, pubs, guesthouses and other small businesses survive with staff, rent, tax, regulation, insurance and rising costs is beyond me. Make small enterprise pointless and people stop doing it. Then government gets no tax. Cleaners get no work. Agents get no commission. Local trades lose jobs. That is not growth.

Behold: the most impressive abuse of an MP’s expense account that I’ve seen. An average price of just under £2,000 PER ITEM. Just me, or is this taking the piss out of tax payers?

🤯My goodness! I've always wanted to see Superheavy jump off the pad like that! Although I don't think this was as fast as they originally planned. But, now that the pad isn't holding the vehicle back anymore we can see the true monster thats been hiding this entire time.

£24.3 billion. That is what Britain borrowed in April. One month. £9,375 every second. £810 million every day. £855 from every UK household. The worst April since Covid. There is no Covid this April. No pandemic. No furlough. No lockdown. There is just a country spending money it does not have, on services that get worse every year. The bins still go uncollected. The roads still crumble. The NHS still has seven million people waiting. But the bill keeps growing. Reeves spends. Bailey funds it. Starmer pretends the bond market is not watching. Three offices. One bill. Your name on it. You have not been governed. You have been mortgaged. Again. This month. Then next. Until something breaks.
