You gotta be putting like 10x shots on net compared to what you’re currently doing. Most people take one shot every few years. To run up the score you should be putting up 2-3 shots a day minimum. At the end of each year you’ve shot thousands of shots while most people did nothing. It’s a numbers game. Your shooting percentage can be horrible and you’ll still lap everyone. Gotta score to win. Gotta shoot to score. Shoot more.

The Church's new 25-minute Sunday class schedule is intended to get us focused and leave less time for speculating, showing off, and regurgitating podcasts. That's my takeaway from @the_churchnews's interview with Elder David P. Homer, executive director of the Church’s Priesthood and Family Department: "[Our new class purpose] may be less about me being able to demonstrate my mastery of the information. It may be less about me sharing content from my favorite podcasts... "This is more a deliberate effort to immediately get into what the scriptures [and] conference talks are teaching us." He also added that this new schedule will allow for monthly trainings to teachers to focus on the true intent of these classes. I hadn't thought about this aspect of the new schedule before, but now that I see this change in light of the Church's recent push around ensuring doctrinal purity in our meetings, it makes more sense. This attitude shift is going to be hard for many members and teachers to adopt. We're used to the freewheeling, open mic format where anything goes. Now, teachers will need to occasionally, politely interrupt long-winded or doctrinally questionable comments and get the class re-focused on the truth as taught in the lesson. We'll see some growing pains for a while. Hopefully we can focus and adopt the intention of this change better than we've adopted the intention of ministering. If so, it can be a huge blessing for the quality of our second hour instruction.
