@ariaupdated I appreciate the chat and i appreciate changes being made that users actually asked for (even if i don't agree on them all).

@StephenCWLL That is definitely the goal. I appreciate your focus on security. While pause may hurt this posture for some, I expect the # of devices who end up being more secure due to the changes will be greater (auto-repair improvements, reduced E2E update time - last section of the blog)

@ariaupdated Hopefully you can share those stats with us once this change is out and established. Say, a year's time? I'm happy to be proven wrong. My guess is though that to some degree we'll both be proven right.

@ariaupdated Hopefully this will become a moot point if you finally get to background updates that don't require reboots. That's probably a few years away I'd guess though

@StephenCWLL It is about users having control. There are times, and very specific cases (admittedly rare), where you may need to pause updates for a few months. While this is not recommended, as to your point security is critical, users should have control over their PCs.

@ariaupdated When it comes to security, i can't agree. Hopefully if it's an out of bound security update it'll still just happen? Delaying security updates indefinitely is never going to be a good idea. Would you want users to pause indefinitely virus definition updates?

@windowsinsider Think everything you're changing is a good move forward BUT indefinite pausing for security updates? Very very bad idea.
