Every day there’s another tweet from some random dork declaring that I’m now on the naughty list or whatever. What did I do wrong this time? Express skepticism about a military campaign? So total conformity on foreign policy is now required to be a conservative, is that the idea? Okay, cool. Good luck building any kind of effective coalition that way.

@PaulRoundy1 @SteveStuWill Overlooked point! Slavery made the vast majority of the population, free and slave, poorer than they would have been with market labor in a system of equal rights. It was bad economics on top of being unjust.

@SteveStuWill Slavery prevented optimal success of capitalism, because a meaningful sub population couldn't make its own decisions how to use its resources, including its work time.

Daylight "savings": When you normally wake up at 6, but for half the year wake up and 5 and pretend it's 6 so you can pretend the sun goes down at 9:30 instead of 8:30, in defiance of God.

@DrewitzWx @GOP ECMWF total revenue is about 250 million. NOAA is a 6+ billion dollar agency (much broader mandate obv) but its 25x bigger...money isn't the problem here.

That's probably because Europe doesn't have a Republican Party that is constantly on the crusade to cut funding for scientific innovation and progress. Anytime we find ourselves behind Europe in STEM, thank the .@GOP because they put their religion before scientific innovation.
Ryan Maue@RyanMaue

I don't think 🇺🇸people realize how far ahead Europe is with NWP and weather/climate research. ECMWF launched their 9-km global model in 2016 (Cycle 41r2) NOAA has a plan for next version of GFSv17 at 9-km, but might be a while. More than a decade behind state-of-the-art

@ThomasEWoods Ron Paul is against any wars, so sooner or later he has to be right. Doesn’t mean he’s right about this one.

It's really awesome that years later, some people admitted that Ron Paul had been right about the Iraq war. But that only really counts if you then oppose the next stupid thing, instead of saying: but this one is different! It really isn't.

@mtracey Yes, rather than admit their mistake and try to rally their respective audiences against this crap, they should just jump off a bridge. This is such a pathetic take, showing that you are more personally concerned about being proven right, and tut tutting accordingly.

If you have any sort of public-facing role that entails knowing things about US politics, and you promoted/endorsed/campaigned for Trump on the idea that he would reduce, rather than increase, hostilities with Iran, your only viable option now is to withdraw from the public arena

@EWErickson Crazy take. No one thinks its remotely possible that the US can lose the war in a military sense, much less are they rooting for it. I think most antiwar people think its always a good time to declare victory and get out.

This is the first time I can remember so many members of the press actively and openly rooting for the United States to lose a war. And its all so they can get the better of Trump.

@mtracey U think this makes them less credible??? Shouldnt the fact they invested so much time/energy/resources into an election lead to them not doing this? Make it make sense. The fact they are spunding the alarm in spite of their previous support tells me its genuine.

You and Tucker both campaigned for Trump in 2024, and used your platforms to encourage others to vote for him. Now you're both variously accusing him of covering up a giant child rape ring, and launching an apocalyptic religious war. Who could take either of you seriously?

@allbesaved @Ehansen580 @MisesChair @AP4Liberty I keep being told the people who were right about the last 20 years have a child's view of the world, a view that you apparently shared until mid last year. So bring us along, what changed your mind?

What I can't figure out is why you libertarians think this is the same thing as 20 years ago. It's why I think y'all are retards. And I am one of you. I was a Chair of a State Party and an organizer for the Mises Caucus until mid last year. I Just thought y'all could be intelligent enough to see through the bullshit. Instead, your autism is just too strong. Instead of being able to read the Game of Kings chessboard, you have a child's understanding of the world. This isn't about Israel or Iran. Not really. It's about much more than that. It's about finally freeing the US from the grip of the Empire. 20 years ago the US was doing the bidding of the Empire. Today we are finally putting an end to the Empire. And y'all are screeching like angry teenagers whose daddy took the car keys away. Now I may be wrong in the end. And I'll condemn a prolonged boots-on-the-ground war if it turns into that. But it's obvious Trump is not Bush. It's obvious he is in charge here, not Bibi. But y'all are so trapped in your autism you can't see it. And I can't figure out why.
