Very excited to share my first first-author work!🫀 Improved renal function (ie, decreasing Cr) when treating AHF is paradoxically associated w/ increased mortality, driven not by renal tubular injury, instead by greater congestion & more underlying cardiorenal disease.

In #ALLHAT, we found no significant differences between chlorthalidone, lisinopril, or amlodipine on death, CHD, and stroke in ISH or IDH. BP lowering, not agent type, is key to #CVD risk reduction. Very grateful for incredible mentorship from @MichaelGNanna!
