WHY would rich, wealthy, and powerful politicians and greedy lawyers fight so hard to deny victims of protests and riots compensation from the state? The cynicism, callousness, and hypocrisy of Kenya’s elites is truly galling. Shame on them!

While I support Boniface Mwangi's release or due process in court, the loud activism around his detention reeks of selective outrage. He isn’t a special case—many Kenyans suffer silently in foreign jails. Let's not stampede quiet diplomacy with street drama. I applaud the PS Foreign and Diaspora Affairs for a measured response. Activists and even fmr CJ Maraga should champion all detained Kenyans, not just high-profile names. Justice must be universal.

I am deeply concerned by the continued detention of Boniface Mwangi by authorities in the United Republic of Tanzania without access to the courts, legal counsel or consular representation, in clear violation of international human rights law. I condemn the failure by the Kenyan government to show any urgency in ensuring that Boniface Mwangi is freed immediately and unconditionally. I urge the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs to urgently provide the public with clear information about of Boniface Mwangi’s specific circumstances; the reason the Tanzanian government continues to detain him; and what effort it is making to ensure that Tanzania complies with international human rights law. During this difficult time, I extend my solidarity with the family and friends of Boniface Mwangi. I pray for his swift and safe return to his wife and children.

Insulting President of LSK is a NO NO IG can accompany H.E but he should NOT be addressing the people. IG can arrange for his own security baraza. Your decision to speak out regarding the Inspector General's presence at an event with the President has made me confirm the same. The President's role as a national leader is essential, regardless of the event's nature. Also, the involvement of OCS, OCPDs, and County Police Commanders in political gatherings is lawful. They must maintain law and order, and their presence is necessary to ensure public safety.
