You've gotten to a point where you've essentially become an expert in predicting exactly how you might be cooked. With that level of critical thinking there's just no reality where you'll ever allow it to happen to you. Even seeing this on your feed is already proof of that
Seriously though you have to give yourself some more credit. You're not some useless sack of flesh and you never were. The fact that this stuff is even on your mind means you care enough about your life to never give up
Keep moving forward and trust in your ability to adapt to whatever life throws at you. No need to overly fear because you'll always be able to figure it out. Impossible not to figure out out being surrounded by so many bright minds. Believe it or not you're one of them

just to be clear, yes, we'll start researching this very soon, right after HVM4, SupGen and the Mac Mini cluster are ready, and they almost are but again, I do think AGI is coming from ML way before we could do it through symbolic means. the pace of progress is just incredible

@RealPData Problem is that your not the only one to see this angle.
He has threatened 6 Different countries with some degree of annexation or intervention in the last year. Canada, Panama, Greenland, Venezuela and Nigeria are all fine. Why would Iran be particularly worried?

I think I have theory for what Trump is trying to do here:
What’s the only thing keeping the nut cases in charge in Iran? It’s military. And based on what we’re hearing, morale is crashing and even some are allegedly joining the protesters.
If they hear their incompetent leadership is about to start another shitfest with the United States in the middle of this current disaster (over Trump saying don’t kill protesters) it might be enough for many to say to hell with this and the whole regime implodes.
If that’s the reason, it really puts the last year of Trump’s foreign policy into a new perspective.
