@PuckDontLie The Panthers just won back to back Cups and went to three straight finals without a true number one defenseman. It’s a luxury, not a necessity. There’s more of those guys around the league than there are Knies’s, Tkachuks and Wilson’s.

The NHL needs to clamp down on conditional draft selections. A basic trade shouldn’t punt a draft pick four seasons later.
