🚨 JUST NOW: House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries is completely unhinged, claiming the “ghost of the Confederacy” is haunting the Supreme Court and “invading” the entire nation! “We’re gonna win back control of the House… the ghost of the Confederacy has afflicted the Supreme Court majority, and is invading and haunting the nation right now… Democrats are committed to launching a decisive and overwhelming response in advance of 2028.” This is what the modern Democrat Party has become: race-obsessed conspiracy theorists who can’t accept a color-blind Constitution. Instead of focusing on borders, crime, or inflation, they’re still fighting Civil War ghosts in 2026.

In the late '80s/early '90s I managed an 8 node network of Silicon Graphics Irix workstations. It had the coolest flight simulator built in -- flying with a mouse was... tricky... 😀 My hypervisor here at the house is running ProxMox (which on a Debian distro). My VMs (Plex, file/print, ftp, database, etc.) are all running on Ubuntu server and my workstations are running KUbuntu, but I am enjoying playing with ZorinOS and may move to it... So, I'd have to state I like Debian distros with Ubuntu and ZorinOS being my favorites...

@ddalby76 @ChrisWa16949549 @Math_files The key word being "perfectly." Yes, you can construct two lines of length n, but placing your straight edge EXACTLY on the edge of your lines - and not 0.01% away from an edge of both ends of the line - is where error is introduced and you lose the "perfection."

Squaring the Circle There is an English phrase—“squaring the circle.” It is used when someone attempts something that is fundamentally impossible. But this is not just a phrase. It comes from one of the most famous problems in mathematics. Imagine you are given a circle with area πr². The challenge is simple to state, yet incredibly deep: Construct a square with exactly the same area using only a compass and a straightedge. That means the square must satisfy: side² = πr² So, the side should be r√π. And here lies the problem. Using classical geometric tools, you can only construct lengths that come from algebraic numbers. But π is not just irrational—it is transcendental. It cannot be expressed through any finite algebraic construction. It cannot be measured exactly. It cannot be drawn perfectly. If you cannot construct √π, you cannot construct the side of the square. And if you cannot construct the side, the square itself can never exist. In 1882, this was finally proven rigorously. Since then, “squaring the circle” has become a symbol of chasing the unattainable—a reminder that some problems are not waiting for a solution, they are waiting for acceptance.

Absolutely not. We are a republic of 50 states. Each state needs to have the same chances of having their votes count in a general election. If it's popular vote, the rural areas would dominate the results and we, those of us who live out here in "Fly Over Country", would have no influence on the results of a general election - and the taxes and regulations with which the rural populations would strangle us... No, we have an electoral college for a reason. Democracy: Three wolves and a sheep voting on who's lunch.

The Democrats have been screaming that Jim Crow is back! Just to test it out, I went outside to see if I now have less rights as a black man. I started humming a negro spiritual and set out on my way. Got on a bus. Sat in front. No one said anything to me. Took it one stop and then did the walk of shame back to my truck. Went to a restaurant. Sat at the counter. The nice man behind it asked me if I wanted a menu. I informed him this was just a test and he passed. The look of confusion on his face let me know the Democrats hadn’t informed him I can’t sit at restaurant counters. Looked for separate bathrooms and water fountains. Couldn’t find a single one. Got immediate side eye from an older black woman when I asked her if she’d noticed any separate water fountains or bathrooms. Her answer wasn’t Christian. Tried looking for a freedom march so I could join it and see if I’d get hosed or dogs turned on me. No marches. I did see someone with a Pomeranian dog, though, but it didn’t attack me. So… based on my evidence, Jim Crow is still dead. The Democrats lied.

When my son entered the first grade, he was able to read the newspaper, or at least the majority thereof. He'd use phonics to puzzle out the words he didn't know. He knew addition and subtraction and I was laying the ground work for multiplication and division. My dad still loves to tell this story from when he was 4: We were out on their back porch and the sun set. My dad told him, "The sun went night-night, so we need to go inside." He was informed, very solemnly, "Grampa, the sun doesn't go night-night, the earth spins and the sun is moving to the other side." Three months into the school year, his mother and I were summoned to a parent teacher conference. She informed us that our son was ADD or ADHD and gave us the name of a shrink would prescribe Ritalyn for him. We took him out of the public school system and enrolled him in a private Christian school. Around Christmas, I fessed up to his teacher that he was enrolled because the school system was having problems with him. She laughed and told me, there's nothing wrong with him. He's just smart and was bored in class. The public school system can't handle smart students - so they drug them into complacency...

"You aren't qualified to homeschool your children." "Interesting. I need a graduate degree to teach my child 3rd-grade math?" "No, but you need to understand how children learn, different learning styles, and teaching methods." "How about I just get to know my child, and how he learns will become apparent very quickly." "No. You're ignoring classroom management techniques." "...Not sure I need classroom management techniques for my living room." "But you need to be an expert in teaching to teach your children?" "Will that guarantee better outcomes?" "Absolutely not. In fact, in most places, outcomes are getting worse with every passing year." "Sooo...what's the point?" "The point is that I spent time and money on a degree and you can't just go and do things without my approval it's totally not fair."

There is this tiny little constitutional issue here, but.... Property Rights & the Fifth Amendment – The U.S. Constitution protects private property from being “taken for public use without just compensation.” Eminent domain exists, but it’s meant for projects like roads, schools, utilities—not to force a private business to operate against its will. Seizing a grocery store just because it wants to close? That’s textbook abuse. Commerce Clause & State Limits – Cities can regulate business practices, but they can’t unilaterally prevent a business from shutting down. A blanket “you must stay open” rule would likely violate both state and federal law governing commerce and contracts. Due Process Concerns – Forcing a business to continue operations ignores the owner’s rights and could spark lawsuits claiming deprivation of liberty or property without proper legal process. Practical Side – Beyond legality, think of the optics and logistics: If a store is losing money or unsafe due to theft or violence, forcing it to stay open doesn’t magically fix the underlying problems—it just puts taxpayers on the hook or creates chaos. So yes, if HB-2313 were actually enacted and used this way, it would almost certainly be tied up in courts immediately—and likely struck down. The mayor is playing “savior of the people” theatrically, but the constitutional and legal foundation is extremely shaky.

Seattle’s socialist Mayor Katie Wilson has officially declared war on grocery chains. She claims she will unilaterally BAN grocery stores from closing down in her city, arguing that food access is a human right that overrides business decisions. She said : "We cannot allow big grocery chains to close stores at will!" The Plan: If a private business tries to leave due to theft, taxes, or safety concerns... the government will step in. Her allies in the state legislature have even introduced a bill (HB-2313) allowing the city to use Eminent Domain to SEIZE grocery store properties and turn them into government-run shops. Mayor Katie Wilson calls it "protecting the community." Critics call it "holding businesses hostage." Thoughts?

Do you know that the average single man can go months or even years without non-sexual physical touch. No hugs. No hand-holding. No comforting pat on the back? The only time many men experience gentle touch is from a barber or a paid sex worker. This condition is called 'Skin Hunger,' and it leads to severe depression and anxiety. Society has labeled male touch as 'predatory' or 'creepy,' so men have learned to starve themselves of human contact just to make women feel comfortable. They are dying of loneliness in a crowded room.
k@alfkkifine

what opinion about men do you have that makes people feel like this???
