What other nation would find it hard to understand that their police often need to use violence in order to detain violent and volatile subjects. I for one want our police force to be a force to be reckoned with. I don't want a weak force where officers become victims.

We support a welfare state that works. What we have is a welfare state that grows every year without making people better off. The Investment State changes what your money does for the betterment of our people.

This is not a serious way of doing politics. There will be many in Green constituencies who did not vote Green, and many in Reform constituencies who did not vote Reform. No government should set public policy with the purpose of punishing or rewarding an entire constituency on the grounds of which candidate it returned at the polls. Reform should withdraw this stupid commitment pronto.

Bushra Shaikh is facing a counter-terror probe after she addressed a pro-regime rally in Iran and proudly shared a video of herself speaking while the crowd waved Hezbollah flags. The 2017 Apprentice contestant, who runs a modest fashion label for Muslim women, posted footage of the event on Saturday describing it as “my first speech at a rally in Iran”. Hezbollah is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK. A report has been sent to the Met Police alleging she may have breached the Terrorism Act by inviting support for a terror group and the National Security Act by failing to register under the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme. If convicted @Bushra1Shaikh could face up to 14 years in prison for the Terrorism Act offence. Counter Terrorism Policing will now assess the case.
