Firstly, your posts are fantastic, don’t be offended when I criticize you. You were aware of the advisor’s youthful character, were you being coy when you introduced probabilities he may or may not be familiar with? It’s not his fault he wasn’t prepared for testday, but I agree that there should be familiarity or a willingness to learn. BUT, just because your wife made the appointment, doesn’t mean she kept you in the dark where you were going. It is your responsibility to research what they are currently offering to make them comfortable talking about the subject of retirement. THEN you bring in other factors they should be aware of… BUT, I do understand if you don’t want to waste your time. Tell your wife that.
