I am deeply concerned about the arrest and detention of Dr. Hak Ja Han, who - amid health problems and at 82 years of age - is being subjected to religious persecution by South Korean authorities.

Last week in Las Vegas, a Russian woman and a Ukrainian woman crossed the Bridge of Peace together and became sisters. The Bridge of Peace, signature project of The Women’s Federation for World Peace, is one of the most moving peace building mechanisms I’ve ever witnessed. It is a living testament to the vision of Dr. Hak Ja Han, the Mother of Peace. Her life embodies this very act of reconciliation. For decades, she has traveled the world bringing women, faith leaders, and nations together: not through politics, but through love, forgiveness, and the belief that we are one human family under God. 🌏🤝 Thank you to Adia Lancaster and the Las Vegas WFWP Chapter for hosting an incredible program!

Women who cross the bridge came from traditionally conflicting backgrounds but choose to take the bold step to embrace each other as sisters. This is the power of women’s leadership in action. Thank you Holy Mother Han for showing us the way.
