@StillCompeting @DSS123 For my age I’d say I’m at the elite level. Fueling is not hard at all. During Christmas I burned 20k calories over a week just to see if I could do it and lost zero pounds.

@DSS123 @gamecockjoe Low energy availability is definitely a big part of it, but the effect is broader than just ‘not eating enough.’ There’s a pretty substantial literature showing chronically high-volume male endurance athletes often run lower resting testosterone than sedentary controls.

@StillCompeting @gamecockjoe Well known.... if you don't eat enough (calories and protein), don't recover enough... and don't strength train.
Do all those things then it's possible to maintain healthy T levels. And actually increase them as an endurance athlete.
