@TheFireMaan The height/weight comparison from Cashius Howell to Reinard Wilson is the same difference as Wilson to Geno Atkins. They are completely different players. Howell has the build and speed to do both. Not sure Reinard Wilson could be a pro bowl DT.

I have seen this movie before. His name was Reinard Wilson. he was an elite pass rusher from Florida State. The Bengals had him drop into coverage and it wasn’t pretty. Let this man get after the QB!

While it reads as a 1 year extension worth $28M, that’s not the full story. Lawrence is owed $20M in 2026; $22M in 2027; and now $28M in 2028. That breaks down as $70M over 3 years for an AAV of $23.333M for a 28 year old game wrecking DT. Compare that to another player (older) wanting an extension. Again, just a great move by Cincinnati. 3 years of team control for one of the best DTs in the league and their average pay is only $23.333M. Interested to see the breakdown of the 1 year extension. There simply cannot be a negative spin on this.

If you look at the position Dexter Lawrence plays, and the limited impact players in this draft at that position, and the spot the Bengals are in as an organization and their current window, it sure makes more sense than taking a player with the 10th pick in a draft that isn’t deep and can fall a variety of ways in the 9 picks before them that leaves them reaching. Good move for the Bengals.

Bengals need to make Super Bowl run and show they are in the business of winning and spending. Dex was perfect for them. Real chance Styles, downs, Bain etc off board. They got an elite DT. Monster win.
