I'm equal parts emotionally hurt and enraged at having missed this run in semis. I've spent days upon days in my evenings building a model book based on these recent moves. It's there. It's all right there!!! Could you predict the run would be this epic. No. But we're not here to predict. We're here to position with tight RR, TIGHT RR!!!!!, and let the market do what it may. The worst part? I was in $STX I was in $VRT I was in $SNDK I was in $GEV I was positioned great. I made really good coin, but I let go too early. My all or in out mentality. One of my greatest strengths and why i've survived, but also something I need to be aware of. It's ok to take partials. Hell, it's necessary. I also fell into the trap of listening to the news. War is bad, blah blah blah. Turn it off. It's garbage that seeks to replace your own independent judgement with utter drivel. Use social media, don't let it use you. This is going to sting for a while, but I will make some great wine out of these sour grapes. Have already tweaked elements in response and am noticing a difference. I like the winning. I love the money. But man, I HATE losing. Stock trading is a weird game. It's one of the few you can win a hand and still be upset that you didn't let the pot get bigger before you cashed in. The funniest part of all this. I got into an argument with a "professional trader" selling a service, telling him he sold $GEV too early. I mean, screaming, wtf are you doing early? How can you be selling a service? You remember that @i_manage_risk? And no, it wasn't I manage risk that I'm speaking about, but we briefly shared perspectives on the trade. Weeks later, I sold too early too. The irony. You have to laugh.

@CFlanders7 I got cocky with how I nailed the metals trade and utterly whiffed on semis. Got what I deserved. Lessons getting learned.

For anyone who has underperformed during this rally. I know, it sucks. I’ve been there. I’ve underperformed many times in rallies where it seemed like money was raining from the heavens and I ended up empty handed. The worst was 2019 where I was heavily long the entire rally and somehow lost 30%. Kept over sizing and losing and was able to dig a huge hole which I wasn’t able to dig out of until the huge rally in 2020. This rally I’ve underperformed as well. But guess what! It’s not over yet! There may be many more opportunities and there will be a lot more rallies too. The market isn’t going anywhere. Reflect on what went wrong, how you can correct your process and go from there.

So many set-ups in the energy sector this week. I said the exact same thing about gold, silver, and rare earths last week and they got smacked, but the chart patterns are the chart patterns. Let's see what the market wants next week.

Fascinating watching oil, silver, rare earths, and tech just whip from one day to the next. Have to be so tight on positioning. Got burned on a couple silver plays this week, but purely based on my own poor positioning.
