@SewerRatt64 @smc429 Wonder how much this Thanksgiving meal cost per plate. Chicken tender or not this plate doesn't look appetizing
English

@ee61star @lmbartlettpear @smc429 I think it may have been cornbread. Or maybe stuffing. Or bread pudding. Think my dog released a shit that looked tastier.
English

@lmbartlettpear @smc429 I was wondering the same thing. Is that supposed to be cornbread or cake? 🤔
English

@BidenHolocaust @55SweetThing Bacteria growth. It grows exponentially after crossing 40 degrees. So even if most is still frozen some parts will pass that temp. Can either do in fridge for days or a cold water bath.
English

@Stomp02763058 @55SweetThing Why? Been doing it in the sink for years without issue.
English

@icp456 @esrtweet Bunching occurs because all of you decide I need to drive as fast as I can and switch lanes as much as possible. Which causes cars break which mean one behind need to break so on so forth. If everyone goes the same speed limit and followed the rules traffic would not be as bad.
English

@esrtweet Usually find it safest to drive with traffic. Ideal is constant speed for each car in a given lane, with minimal lane changing, and no bunching of traffic.
Bunching occurs when a police car appears and everyone rigorously conforms to the speed limit.
English

My perspective on this changed when I learned one key fact about driver behavior. Traffic engineers studied it carefully and discovered that drivers are, in general, very good at choosing the maximum speed that is safe for current driving conditions.
This is consistent with other indicators that what drivers actually do is choose a level of acceptable risk and then calibrate their behavior to that. Make seatbelts and airbags mandatory, they start doing chancier things. Remove all stop signs and traffic signals, they start driving very carefully and accident rates actually go down. (Yes, this experiment has been done in Europe.)
So it's not so much that Americans think driving over the speed limit is a god-given right. It's that we're basically incapable of seeing speeding as a malum in se. Contrast driving drunk.
Matters aren't helped by the fact that speed limits are widely perceived to be dishonest ways for the police and local government to raise revenue via fines. This conduces to a lack of respect for them.

From reading the replies it appears Americans believe speeding over the limit is a god given right
English

@BidenHolocaust @55SweetThing Supposed to do it in the fridge. Not counter ir in your case sink.
English

@55SweetThing Never took more than 24 hours to defrost a 20+ pound turkey in the sink in CA. We'd put it in the sink in the morning and it would be defrosted by the next morning.
English

@ItsRobbAllen Milk and sugar came much much later. Some places still use origional recipe and it is quite bitter.
English

Once again, I struggle to understand how we have chocolate.
I mean, someone saw this fruit & thought "Fruit is usually yummy, I should eat it."
They opened it up & saw a glob of mucus covered pods thar are—from my understanding—sweet & slightly citrusy but look like a giant booger.
That person then said "You know what, I should ferment these for a while! And then I should just let them sit there for a week or so to let them dry and get all crusty. You know what would work after that? ROASTING them! Probably should break them down into little nibs, too. Ah, then I probably should grind them into dust! Oh, I should add milk and sugar too!"
How we got from point a to point b just baffles me.
Ginger@HandyGingerGal
Not only do I know what it is, I know what to do with it!

@TakingHisTime @Iovelanguge So if the table had a 3k bottle of wine and the server still pitched about a 200 tip which was 50% then what. Just another entitled server. She needs to get over herself. I know exactly how much those servers at high end places make. And it equals up to a very generous 6 figures.
English

It should have been $450 minimum. Unless the service was poor.
Notice how you said America and not England. If we wanted to be like you we wouldn’t have fought a revolution.
Tip your server 15%-20% of the main meal in the United States.
Add $1 per mixed drink.
Add $1 per dessert.
If you’re not going to do this, you can easily eat at McDonalds or a million other fast dining establishments.
English

Expecting over £200 on top of your wages to wait on a table of 4 is absolutely absurd. American tipping culture is genuinely so scary, that £200 is literally a full days pay for most people. Americans need to grow up
brecht apologist@madison_tayt
table of 4 that “absolutely loved their meal and service” tipped $200 on a $3,023 check. just as i was starting unlearn my hatred for the french, they turn around and do this.
English

@HidekiRyuuu @Iovelanguge Was a law passed during desegregation. Prior to 66 they were required to pay full minimum wage.
English

@Iovelanguge Why does the boss not pay proper wage to thrm ? Why do we have to pay tip to them. Tipping should be voluntary not mandatory, America has lot of stuff wrong with it.
English

@SEAziziWrites @Iovelanguge And everytime I see some waiter/waitress bitch about a tip the smaller mine gets. Don't be entitled pricks.
English

@Iovelanguge It’s not 200 pounds, it’s 200 dollars, and the very smallest appropriate tip would be ~450 DOLLARS. This is not hard to look up and learn about American dining AND MOST RECEIPTS NOW SHOW YOU WHAT THE TIP SHOULD BE AT VARYING LEVELS
English

@KrowbarG @StephanKeevel @Iovelanguge You are stupid that shit started in the 60s. Was coded into law in 66 to be specific. That isn't even 60 years let alone 150. Prior to that they got minimum wage or more.
English

@charl0_0o @OEN5195 @Iovelanguge Tipping starts at 20% so a 15% increase is still a reduction in price.
English

@OEN5195 @Iovelanguge Then what’s the difference? I’m in Montreal and some restaurants have started to make the change too increasing menu pricing and removing tip but wether u tip 15% or u add 15% to the menu prices it’s the same thing. I’m not saying it’s right but it’s the way it is
English

@toojoe @airkatakana @rackdisiprin It's motion. That is just moving a 3d image around. That is not 4d just what people call it to feel better. Like a 4d ultrasound is just adding the movement. It is still a 3d design/picture.
English

@Stomp02763058 @airkatakana @rackdisiprin Huh? By simulating it. There are lots of 4D games. And, we can certainly conceptualize it. We can do math about it just fine.
English

They. Are. Not. Free.
They are funded by TAXPAYERS.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan@MayorofLondon
Today we celebrated 100 million free school meals provided to children in London’s state primary schools 🎉
English

@toojoe @airkatakana @rackdisiprin How do you experience something we can not see or even conceptualize. 4th dimension is time. Making things move isn't adding that it is just moving a 3d thing. Maybe making it age but that is just more 3d changes drooping decay whatever.
English

@Stomp02763058 @airkatakana @rackdisiprin I don’t think it is for lack of interacting with a 4D environment. One can gain a better intuition about 4D shapes through experience with them, but I don’t think this gives the ability to visualize them. I think it’s architectural.
English

@daledelsureste @Txp_RBI_Xctuxl It's at or +5 in the states. Not sure what your laws are. If you are in a major city it is closer to +10 at the minimum.
English

If I were a cop or state trooper, I would spend 99% of my shift pulling over and ticketing people like this.
Padres Farm@Pads1818
I'm driving speed limit on the left lane Idc if you honk or are mad. I'm not going faster or moving lanes. You figure it out.
English

@theblackcowgirl Never leave a balance on your card. Buy something then pay it off. They won't kill your account that way. And you won't accrue intrest.
English

@M_VanDerLubbe @Universal_Ken @handleitgrips Yeah id be more worried about just pissing it off. Hogs are mean. Is a reason they added a cross bar on hog spears. Crazy things would just keep running up it to get you.
English

@Stomp02763058 @Universal_Ken @handleitgrips Crazy thing is, my "bonus grandson" recently DROPPED a good-sized hog, with one shot from a .22LR revolver. He's pretty good with it, but that was still a lucky (and un-advisable) shot!
English

@Ancap_NI @HighImShawn @TheOktoberSky @handleitgrips Point out the 2 places that had been fighting being overan for years. And comparing them to the US is crazy. Most of the people here going civil war would roll over within a year. And that is much longer than it will probably take. Most Americans couldn't handle the deprivation.
English

@HighImShawn @TheOktoberSky @handleitgrips Planes and nukes can't enforce tyranny. Look at Afghanistan and Vietnam. Both times the US was forced out by an unrelenting enemy using guerrilla tactics despite being heavily outgunning them
English

@M_VanDerLubbe @Universal_Ken @handleitgrips I dunno how many .22lr do I get? People are considered soft. Now if it is a wild hog .308 at a minimum.
English

@Universal_Ken @handleitgrips If, for some reason, and I hope it's a damned good one, I need to kill someone 600 yards away, give me a bolt-action rifle, chambered in .308 or larger.
I don't want to piss the guy off and have him walk over and beat me to death with a golf club.
English

@paradxxa Ima give you the side to side hand motion. Is a kinda thing. Big city to big city yes. Inside big cities yes. Everything else not so much. Some small towns have a station if its on a route but it isn't common. And small towns need them low pop spread out with all store in 1 spot.
