🇭🇷🇮🇱President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović will not give his consent to the appointment of the proposed ambassador of the State of Israel to Croatia due to the policies of the current Israeli government, the Office of the President announced. "Any public or political pressure, in this case from the Israeli side, will not change the decision of the President of the Republic" - published by the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia. Milanović has previously repeatedly criticized Israel's stance towards the Palestinians, namely their actions in Gaza.

The arrest of Chief Inspector Dishen Angoya for performing his duties professionally and in accordance with the Constitution is unacceptable. It constitutes a direct assault on constitutionalism, the rule of law, and the independence of the National Police Service. The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen, and the Director of Public Prosecutions, Renson Igonga, stand indicted unless they immediately secure the unconditional release of Chief Inspector Angoya. The Constitution guarantees operational independence to police officers in the execution of their duties. Decisions relating to the release of suspects pending arraignment, and whether or not to prefer charges against a person already under arrest, are matters of professional discretion to be exercised independently, objectively, and strictly within the confines of the law. It is therefore an abuse of office for members of the political class to orchestrate the arrest of a police officer for lawfully discharging his duties. Such actions suggest an alarming desire by those in authority to subordinate the police service to political direction and transform it into a partisan instrument or private militia. This is unconstitutional, dangerous to democracy, and must be resisted by all Kenyans of goodwill. We call upon all citizens to stand in solidarity with police officers and security personnel who act within the law and uphold their constitutional mandate. They must be protected from harassment, intimidation, and coercion by politicians of whatever persuasion who seek to interfere with or politicize their work. We further call upon the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights to ensure that the rights of all public servants, including those serving in the security sector, are protected and respected. A police service that operates under fear that professionalism and non-partisanship may result in arrest or persecution cannot be expected to discharge its mandate effectively or impartially. It is therefore in the public interest that Chief Inspector Angoya be protected from unwarranted harassment and allowed to perform his duties without political interference.

🇮🇹 Oscar-winning Italian actor Roberto Benigni criticized Israel: “Why do they keep killing children? Even if a child is only slightly injured, the war must stop. What cowards they are. The human heart cannot bear to hear such a scream of pain. But they do not hear it.”

Almost 10 hours after Central Police Station OCS Chief Inspector Dishen Angoya reportedly complained that he was unwell and had high blood pressure, he was still locked up at Lang’ata Police Station. This is the same system that uses police officers to face angry citizens, then abandons them the moment political orders turn into personal liability. If this can happen to an OCS, junior officers should read the room very carefully.

Imagine the President is out of the country, the nation is burning and the government has called a crisis meeting. That crisis meeting is not chaired by the Deputy President or even a cabinet minister, it is chaired by a blogger. That is how low our nation has sunk!
