@Jkylebass @SpoxCHN_LinJian @HuXijin_GT How does China have a weak hand when President Trump has delayed shutting down TicTok and Congress passed bipartisan legislation? China may have a pair of 2’s in its hand, but the flop is 2,2,A,4,9. That gives China quad 2’s with an Ace kicker. The winning hand!

@TheOfficerTatum Can you explain why the police department wouldn’t pay for the property damage?

I AGREE With the Afroman Verdict As a former police officer, I’ll say it plainly: if you raid a man’s house, find NOTHING, and damage his property…you don’t get to play victim when he clowns you. That’s called free speech. You work for the public—accountability comes with the badge.

@CGasparino @BobSloanS3 Have the Gulf countries that sell the oil & gas been asked to have their Navy’s open the Straits?

"The straits are not going to be closed for very long. We're not going to let it happen." Jack Devine — former CIA Deputy Director — joined @BobSloanS3 and I on Risk & Return this week. Key part of his reasoning: Iran blocking Hormuz blocks China's oil supply. That's a card they can play — but playing it only means they get pummeled more. @S3Partners data adds context: showing global shipping stocks where short interest is increasing, while the broader sector sees short covering. Join us Wednesdays for new episodes of Risk and Return!

Uber’s new tier system makes independent drivers feel anything but independent. You can decline rides but doing so can cost you better trips and higher earnings. This is not real flexibility. It is pressure dressed up as rewards that pushes drivers to follow Uber’s rules instead

@IvanTheK The rule is that the Vice Chair acts as interim Chair, which means Phillip Jefferson would become Chair.

Here’s a scenario: Trump tells Pirro to drag out the Powell prosecutorial process because his backstop is naming Miran as interim Chair of the Fed Board. BUT… The FOMC members see this for what it is and keep Powell as its Chair, and monetary policy maintains independence. Hilarity ensues.

@LeviSpires A, if looked at as a “real tip” as it’s a greater percentage of the low wage earners income than the CEO. B, if looked at in “nominal” terms as the CEO has much greater disposable income.

Who gave a bigger tip? A) The low wage worker tips $1. B) The CEO gives a $100 tip.

@RezaNasri1 @araghchi What meeting was the Iran proposal presented? Mr. Witkoff claims Iran mentioned its uranium during the first meeting. But was that a meeting in 2025 or 2026? Didn’t Mr. Witkoff have three meetings in 2026 with Iran?

FM @araghchi could destroy Steve Witkoff’s reputation and career simply by publishing Iran’s proposal from the negotiating table. Anyone reading the document would conclude one of three things: 1- Washington had already decided to attack Iran regardless of Tehran’s position, deceitfully using negotiations as a smokescreen — which would raise serious questions about Witkoff’s integrity for taking part in such a dishonest process; 2- Witkoff lacked the basic knowledge or expertise to even understand what Iran was putting on the table; 3- Witkoff deliberately misrepresented Iran’s proposal to his boss in order to ignite a war at Netanyahu’s behest. In any of these scenarios, Witkoff’s credibility would be finished in the eyes of the American public and international counterparts.

@SullyCNBC President Trump talking about hitting Iran’s electrical grid might be boxing the leadership of Iran in, where they have nothing to lose, like Iraqi setting Kuwaiti wells on fire. This could turn into a huge mess quickly if the rhetoric isn’t turned down.

WSJ: The since-deleted post was enough to wipe out million-dollar trades. Benchmark U.S. crude futures plunged by as much as 19% at one point. During a roughly 10-minute span when Wright’s post appeared, an exchange-traded fund linked to oil futures saw $84 million of its market capitalization evaporate. wsj.com/finance/stocks…

@NikkiHaley Will the same rules apply to PAC’s & Super PAC’s to know if foreign money is funding them? If a person holds multiple passports, does that qualify as foreign influence? Asking for a friend…

Universities will now be required to disclose not only which foreign countries fund them—they’ll be made to publicly name exactly who is writing the checks. This is a long-overdue step toward transparency and exposing the foreign money quietly poisoning our students.

The Treasury reportedly plans to short oil futures next week to drive down energy prices. If oil infrastructure in the ME is badly damaged, Gulf States shut in production & the Strait remains closed, prices will blow through their shorts, potentially causing losses of taxpayer $!
