So far I’ve delivered 5 packages for Amazon Flex and earned $234.20, I’ve driven 30.1 miles, done 6 blocks (3 were “free money”) and worked 2h 43min (1h 30m of that was waiting at warehouse.) Learning how to work this into my multi-app, cherry picking strategy. Another tool!

First scheduled trip on Lyft. I’m wondering if they are only counting the time with passenger as active time. I accepted the trip at 4:05 and a minute later at 4:06 it started officially. Whole trip took 20 min, so why is the actual only saying 6 min? @DriversC2C @boston_drives

Yea, it’s not a good sign that drivers would get kicked out for asking basic questions. I would want to know what their union platform is and how they would hold themselves responsible. M I’ve never been a part of a work union before, so I cannot give an honest opinion of how they operate. But I’ve heard enough from plenty others that they never truly benefit the workers like it ought to. Do you know if the group got above the 5% threshold? And if not, how close are they?

So they passed a law last year, allowing drivers in Massachusetts to form a union. This group got above the 5% threshold and that gave them access to the list of drivers, including our phone numbers, emails and home addresses. They’ve been texting, calling, emailing and visiting homes asking us to sign the card to make this group be the union. Unfortunately, as of yet, they haven’t told us what they plan to do for drivers, they’re solely focused on getting drivers to sign the cards to make them the union. So I know some drivers who went last night hoping they would present their plans, and how they hope to represent drivers. What I heard was a hard sale on signing the card to make them the union. Then, when some drivers asked extremely basic, reasonable, non-confrontational questions, they were kicked out. I’m open to hearing an explanation from them, but I tend to think that tells me everything I need to know about this group.

Wow. Hearing reports that drivers were getting kicked out of the App Drivers Union zoom meeting for asking questions.😬 Anybody else go?

Yes, that’s an important factor. However, when small markets are overwhelmed with rider requests and limited drivers, the tier system no longer matters. And I believe this would also apply to larger markets when driver/rider supply demand is in drivers favor. I can’t wait to test this out at the Delaware Beaches this summer.

@thechuckdriver Is a small market one where there aren't many drivers or customers? I think the most important factor is how many tiered drivers there are compared to non-tiered drivers.

The 5 percent increased pay is useless. Drivers are focusing on the advantage mode part of the new Uber Pro but not many are actually focusing on the problematic part... The new Uber Pro will make it harder to Cherry Pick rides if those rides never even make it to your phone.

@floridauber1 Exactly! And I’ll always ask them…”how’s everyone feeling tonight? We all good? Need any color bags?” Most of them laugh at that. And I also have a breathalyzer for people to blow in, which also helps me out.

@thechuckdriver Also learn to screen your customers when picking up at the bars. All the sick ones have that look. I just cancel the ride. And from my Attorney friend he said, next time they mess up your car just take them to small claims court for $500. Uber is required to give the info.

My Uber driver is using FSD 12. Definitely a better ride than most Uber drivers
