Life in Canada is so depressing. I take home 57% of my wage after income tax, before sales taxes and other taxes. I make a wage in roughly the 95th percentile of incomes in my province, and if I don’t want to live in a shoebox, my wife needs to work rather than raise our two little kids. All to provide lavish benefits to the thousands and thousands of unproductive takers, who vote themselves an ever larger share of a shrinking economic pie. It’s bleak

Years ago I was grappling with a big life decision. Got a big promotion that I candidly wasn't sure I wanted. Meant I would live on a plane and probably torch my relationship. Called my boss at the time, standing at the Newark airport frozen at what should have been the best opportunity of my career. She said "No matter what path you go down, you will always wonder what your life would have been like if you went down the other one. So pick one and be grateful. Whatever is right, is what you choose." Thinking about this a lot right now. Sharing if useful to anyone else on their journey.

@NWischoff Living on a plane doesn’t sound good unless that is what you would do if you didn’t have to work. On the relationship you probably got an answer some other way already. After a career of 35 years in Engineering, Hardware and Software, I’m very picky about what I spend time on.

This lady goes to the gas station like she always does on a normal day. But, as she uses her card which she knows has plenty of money in her account, the message “please see cashier” pops up. She’s not going inside. She’s leaving and going to another gas station. This has happened to me many times and I refuse to go inside because a gas station can’t fix their darn gas pumps. In fact, I won’t visit that gas station anymore. Has this ever happened to you? Did you go inside or did you leave and go to another gas station?
