@Garnet_2203 @PaulCalandra It is indeed. But I think we all know how the rules and the laws just don't apply to Conservatives - Federally, provincially, US or Canada

@danielfoch I wonder how many of those "landlords" bought a condo or three in the last 5 years, and are now choking on it.

@StreetNepean @jec79 @davidpugliese @Murray_Brewster Not presented that way, no. For instance F-35 proponents will point out with load-outs, internal weapon bays / fuel tanks change those substantially. But sheer quantity purchased / distance dispersal also has “intercept speed” of its own.

Ontario’s debt is rising fast and debt interest is costing taxpayers $1.35 billion every month. But Premier Doug Ford can put an end to Ontario’s borrowing binge with tomorrow’s budget. Read more @TheTorontoSun

@HedyFry Hedy Fry has officially reached Mitch McConnell's level of out-of-touch-ness. Maybe it's time to think about retiring.

The Stats are out. The Can population has decreased for the first time since Confederation. Soon labour market woes, productivity and economic growth will follow. Immigrants have increased our competitive edge in the global marketplace. How often a simplistic response to a complex problem brings unintended consequences!

I think there would be mass political unrest if more people knew about Queen's Park cafeteria prices. A grand slam is $6.50. Coffee is $1. Green juice is $3. I got a chicken breakfast burrito for $5.50 and it came with unlimited self-serve guac.

@EricDLombardi The party you are running for has done nothing but increase the amount of obstacles builders face in this country for the better part of 2 decades at this point — why should voters in Ontario expect that to change with your version of Liberal politics?

You can’t always trust Canadian governments to do the right thing, but you can always trust that they’ll make it as complicated as possible.

@jm_mcgrath A reminder that the Development Charges Act is provincial legislation that Ford could change with the stroke of a pen. Putting this on municipalities is a farce. They're addicts at a safe injection site getting their DC money high.

@generalequilib @jm_mcgrath Probably because municipalities would point the finger at Ford as the reason for their 20% property tax hikes to make up for that sweet, sweet DC sugar. But you're right, ultimately the Development Charges Act allows cities to do this, and Ford could rewrite it.

@jm_mcgrath Why doesn’t ford just straight up ban development charges? Cities could make do before they really provided much revenue 20 years ago! And it’s not like he really cares what they think.

@ColinDMello It’s easy enough to say “reduce development charges” in order to lower housing costs. But someone has to pay the increased costs of new developments with respect to infrastructure and other marginal costs of delivering services.

NEW: Premier Doug Ford confirms what we reported this morning. All home buyers will get a hefty tax break on new build housing, for a one-year term. The federal government is mirroring the policy meaning the full 13% HST will be waived. This is a $1.4B provincial spend. #onpoli

@Ward3Toronto Cancelling Pickering for more NIMBY reasons had consequences... and the federal government's report said Pearson would be at capacity by 2036. See you in line, I guess.

Massive airport project cancelled by the Fed because demand doesn’t justify it, but Ford is out here cancelling thousands of housing units so he can expropriate Billy Bishop and expand it for jets. Genius move reelecting these guys, Ontario. JFC.
Colin D'Mello | Global News@ColinDMello

Premier Doug Ford claims the city Toronto is approving tall condo towers in the Portlands to block jets at the island airport. “They’re doing it on purpose … they want to block the runway so they’re building tall apartments or condos,” Ford says. “That’s not going to happen.” #onpoli

@RichChurchil @StuntmanStu You've investigated the hit & run already, Inspector? Last I checked, speed has a lot to do with pedestrian fatalities. More stopping distance is needed, etc.
