It’ll be pretty insane if ERC 721s continue fundamental value accrual and outpace ERC 20s. “Sorry about that y’all! Those were all shit coins, NFTs are our real value prop.” -Vitalik 2021

It’s crazy that one of cryptos biggest VCs is known to pressure teams to launch tokens as quickly as possible then pressures them to drive value to equity and never drive real value to tokens

I would never come out and say it publicly because uniswap is one of the most important protocols in crypto but the way labs approached their token and DAO is beyond disgusting. It exists purely as an indemnification shield and they don’t even try to hide it.

@econoar The incentives are all fucked up rn. Too much value accrual to L2s and their centralized sequencers, not enough going home to the L1

I lost $3500 on Blur. I'm a student from India and lost my father recently. This money is huge to me. I tried to talk with the founder to get my money back but he ignores me, even though I see him active on Twitter.

@EntropyAdvisors Projects should start airdropping to confirmed solo stakers. Also, interesting to think about Ethereum prioritizing design decisions that allow solo staking. Turning down upgrades that increase efficiency at solo staking expense. Kind of bullish solana.

Despite the Ethereum community's prioritization of making at-home validation as accessible as possible, the estimated market share of solo stakers has dropped from 10%+ to an all-time low of ~1% today. Discuss👇

An Application That People Want To Use Earlier this year, we started building @variance_poker, an application that allows you to play a game of poker with friends, settled on-chain. Motivation Blockchains have the potential to create networks with desirable outcomes: incentivizing innovation, reducing taxes on creators, and allowing contributors to share in decision-making and benefits. However, without significant adoption, the amazing "tech" behind decentralized networks seems very much like a farce. This cycle typically described as (1) low float high FDV coins, (2) memecoins, and (3) points. Many are bored and tired of seeing the same pattern repeated over and over again. I aim to build an application that people actually care about and will use regularly—daily, weekly, or monthly. I do not want to create something that encourages sybil farms to exploit it and then leave after the airdrop. Poker is my only hobby, and it’s something I enjoy playing in my free time. At a higher level, we hope @variance_poker will introduce poker players around the world to the magnificent world of crypto while providing current folks with a fun and engaging app. What is Variance Poker? @variance_poker can be simply described as: Poker with Friends, Settled On-Chain. We aim to replace traditional cardrooms by adopting smart contracts to automate settlement logic and bypass traditional payment systems. The game starts in 3 steps: • Create a link • Send your link to a friend • Deposit into the vault and start playing. Roadmap & Timeline • In beta, we are focusing solely on product market fit, ensuring contract safety and providing players with fair and auditable shuffling logic. • The initial contracts will be compatible with all EVM networks. Do let us know which chains you would like us to deploy the factory contract on. • Future features include: • Mobile Support • Settlement for Physical Games • Poker Clubs - allowing communities to set up multiple live tables • Public games that anyone can participate in • Freeroll Tournaments Closing We will be launching the beta version of our protocol later in July. Drop a comment below if you would like to try the early version of the protocol! Some Snippets 👇

Why tf hasn't anyone solved on-chain poker? Why Poker? — Immediate audience of crypto x poker with a sizeable ticket size as well; most whales have been poker players and most communities regularly host poker nights. — Speculation finds immediate PMF in crypto; GTM shouldn’t be an issue. — Seamless collection and distribution of payments via smart contract pools — On-chain randomness supported by many chains now (the logic can be entirely off-chain as well) — Mobile-first would be killer; with Google sign-in flow and seamless ramps integrated — Livestream and tip popular players via $POKER memecoin (or SOL/USDC) Build a poker platform in-house or simply acquire a web2 poker app with good UX, which are struggling to monetize and convert them. UX and good gameplay should be the topmost priority. Happy to help; if anyone interested or already building.
