@Oddernod @cgpov This is it really, they know GenAI is the antithesis of art but it gets the people with no talent to subscribe thinking they're artists.

It’s all about locking in new people that want to play at being an artist, serving up the content creation engine of low hanging, simple, repetitive tasks. They need lots of people entering into the subscription model and it’s always easier to get new people than it is to keep the old ones. Especially as govt’s start penalizing them for all their bad faith tricks to keep people from leaving their CC subs. They’ll chase whatever trend is heating up the stock market - remember how hot they were on NFTs a few years ago?

This year Adobe Max focused heavily on GenAI and Firefly. Is Adobe tone deaf here? Are they chasing share prices or do they really think that the future of content creation is GenAI? I’m genuinely curious about this strategy. 🤔 I’m also curious what y’all think.
